For football fans, the factor of nostalgia matters the most. And this is the reason that some football fans keep on supporting their team in absolute slump. While on other occasions, the wonders and glory of the past help fans to cheer up their mood.

So to all learned football fans on PP, drop your most memorable or favorite moments as a football fan 👇

Football is my number one favorite sport.

I watch football since 1998. 1998 FIFA World Cup, to be exact.

Some of my favorite memories:

1) Senegal eliminating France from 2002 FIFA World Cup. That was the mother of all upsets. Didn't see it coming at all.

2) France-Argentina match from 2022 WC final. That was the greatest football game I have ever watched. As a fan of Argentina, it was the icing on the cake that Argentina won.

3) Spain eliminating Germany in 2010 WC semi-final. That was a great game.

4) Italy-Germany semi-final match in 2006 FIFA WC. A classic game. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

5) Croatia beating Brazil in 2022 WC. Excellent game.

6) Liverpool vs Dortmund (4-3). Liverpool were trailing by 0-3 I believe. They ended up winning 4-3. Surreal.

7) Senegal eliminating Sweden in Round of 16 of 2002 WC. Great game.

8) Argentina-Mexico game in 2006 WC Round of 16. Mexico took the lead but Argentina eventually won it 2-1. Maxi Rodriguez scored a stunning goal in extra time.

9) Russia vs Netherlands in 2008 Euro. Underdog Russians vs heavyweight Dutch. Russians somehow prevailed and won 3-1.

10) Croatia vs England in 2018 WC semi-final. A classic game. Croatia won and made it to final for the first time.

11) Argentina vs Netherlands in 2022 WC quarterfinal. It went back and forth. Very entertaining game. Argentina prevailed in the end.

2002 Brazil winning World Cup. Childhood favourite team Brazil.

2004/5 UCL 2nd leg: Liverpool winning against Chelsea. It was 0-0 first leg. the atmosphere was electrifying, Chelsea had a very strong team, Liverpool’s 12th man the crowd got us over the line.

2004/5 UCL final Liverpool v AC Milan. Liverpool winning it coming back from a 3-nil down first half. Won it on penalties in the end.

2006: Liverpool winning the Fa Cup final against West Ham Utd. Steven Gerrard scored a 25-30 yard screamer to make it 3-3 around injury time. Won on penalties.

2008/9 UCL 2nd leg. Liverpool beating Real Madrid 4-0 at Anfield.

2008/9 UCL QF: Liverpool vs Arsenal 2nd leg match. It was 1-1 from first leg. The match was so good, Anfield was buzzing, Liverpool won 4-2

Euro 2008 final Spain v Germany. . Spain winning it with F Torres who was my fav player at the time played for LFC, scoring the winner. Became a big fan of Spain due to a lot of Spanish players playing for Liverpool.

Forgot to add...
2001 FA Cup Final classic, Liverpool vs Arsenal, Liverpool won 2-1, Micheal Owen scored twice, the winner right at the end.

2002 WC Qualifier England vs Greece. David Beckham scoring a 93rd minute free-kick to send England into the world cup.

Some individual memorable moments:

1) Ronaldinho's goal vs England in 2002 WC quarterfinal. He scored that from a very large distance.

2) Gonzalo Montiel's final penalty kick in 2022 WC final. That penalty sealed Argentina's World Cup win.

3) Maxi Rodriguez's goal against Mexico in 2006 WC. Brilliant.

4) Argentina's 2nd or 3rd goal against Serbia & Montenegro in 2006 FIFA WC group stage. It was scored by Cambiaso. It was a team effort; 25 passes. Simply poetic.

5) Paval's goal against Argentina in 2018 WC.

6) Zidanne's penalty kick in 2006 WC final. I don't know if it was deliberate; seemed deliberate. Didn't seem fluke.

Gerrard equaliser against Milan in 2005, remains one of the iconic moments a mediocre squad of Liverpool went on to beat the giants like Milan.
