Players need to be told we're sick of them playing for personal milestones

I'm all for sharing in the celebrations when players reach milestones but I'm sick of them doing it only for personal glory irrespective of going for victory.

This has crept in a lot over the last few years with more and more of our players being guilty of it. It needs to be made clear to all the players that we don't care for your personal milestones unless you're giving your all for the team.

It was so infuriating watching Rizwan and Iftikhar bat in the final that I'm still seething about it. Might be unfair to accuse Rizwan was playing for his fifty but fans could be forgiven for thinking the same.

Enough is enough though, message needs to be sent to the players that we the fans want the team to go for the win, not playing for milestones and this practice needs to end.

I don't think they are playing for personal accomplishments. Just happens that they are not good enough.

The Asia cup being solely broadcasted by an Indian broadcaster has done us a huge favour. Also the presence of Wasim Akram in the commentators too is a highly important factor

I watched nearly all the games and for the first time I saw a highly critical take on Babar and mainly Rizwan by the expert analysts. Scott Styris in the beginning was quite supportive of Rizwan’s batting plan but even he had lost patience by the end of it.

Gautam Gambhir, no matter how dislikable he is was bang on throughout the tournament and he kept on pointing out the pointlessness of personal milestones by the Pakistani players. Wasim Akram stuck his neck out and went after Rizwan after the Hong Kong game!

This is the first time I’ve seen anyone tear into him, and not Babar because he hardly survived long enough at the crease to warrant the same kind of criticism!
