Home Minister Amit Shah, in an interview with Network 18 Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi, said that by way of abrogation of Article 370, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent one message out to the world - "Kashmir is ours".
He said that the generations to come will also remember this move by the Modi government that came shortly after PM Modi came to power for his second term in office.
Further, during the interview, Shah said that Operation Sindoor and Operation Mahadev stand as examples of the Modi government’s zero-tolerance policy against terrorism.
Shah also said Operation Sindoor — launched by India on the intervening night of May 6 and 7 as a targeted strike on terror infrastructure in Pakistan — demonstrated that the country’s borders and its people cannot be tampered with.
The Home Minister also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that initiatives which were initially mocked have now drawn global recognition. “Today, India receives praise from around the world for the way we fought the pandemic,” he added.
Shah further spoke about former prime ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi, acknowledging that they had made different contributions, but stressed that Modi was the only leader who fully implemented the “Gareebi Hatao” slogan in practice. He added that Modi’s role in strengthening the country’s security and economy was in itself a “major achievement.”
