If Quetta knew that the final was going to be played in Lahore, would the better option have been at the start of the tournament to pick at least some foreign players who were willing to travel to Pakistan?

By putting all their eggs in one basket I guess they shot themselves in the foot.

Peshawar however probably knew that most of their overseas players would travel to Pakistan and had that to fall back on.

A mix of both to be honest.

Yes, they should have picked overseas players willing to travel to Lahore and I believe at the draft stage KP was willing to travel but incidents in Lahore close to the final date changed his mind. So I guess bad luck in that regards.

Having said that they were tactically very bad in team selections. Shafiq was given an extended run at top of the order but did not feature in the playoff or final so that experiment was a waste and costed Quetta a lot of games to figure it out. Saad Nasim being played over Amin as a batsman is another blunder that cannot be justified. Wright not starting any but one match for Quetta is also baffling.

Therefore, a mix of both for Quetta. Tough luck for this year and good luck for next year's competition.

Their overseas replacements were bad. They didn't have any fan support either.

They should have batted first. Their batsmen couldn't handle the pressure of chasing in a final.

It was simply a case of a couple of bad overs at the end of Peshawar's innings due to poor bowling, and a few good overs of bowling by Peshawar's bowlers at the start of Quetta's innings which basically decided the match.

Don't forget, Peshawar were 115 for 6 at the start of over 19, and Quetta were looking as if they would restrict them to a score of less than 135 or so, which would have made Quetta favourites at the start of their innings.

But then again, that's cricket - just look how many matches ended with almost certain winners ending up losing the match in the last over or even the last ball.

Whilst Pietersen performed well at the latter stages, his first three scores were 3, 0 , 0. You can't guarantee a player will always perform just because they're a former 'great foreigner'. Sure, KP could have scored a 100, but he could also have been out for a 1st ball duck.

Neither!

Its PCB who destoryed the dream for QG. They played each game to win and things were out of their hand and must have been seriously disappointing and demoralizing for Quetta players.

By this farce PCB may have damaged the morale of Sarfi and a few other Pak Players in the process.

Stupid move to play this in Lahore with the same rules knowing full well that it handed an unfair advantage to Zalmi

Surely, cricket is a funny game one day you score 100 another day 0. But KP on paper fills the team with much needed confidence in their own abilities, a mentor on field and demands more out of the local players.

Surely anyone would take KP over Anamul Hoque!

On paper, virtually everybody will take Chris Gayle over any and every other player in the tournament. Yet, based upon his performances in the 9 matches he played in, scoring 160 runs at an average of 17.7, not many would. Cricket is a funny old game.

Mr Haq over KP? Even if KP got out for a duck he would given confidence just by being in this side...

Russow and Shezy opening and chasing less then 150 with KP on the bench? Yes different ball game...

Why is no one blaming the pitch? The replacements were not of the same quality but they weren't as bad either. Had the curators provided a decent wicket, we could have had a very good match.

Simple as this. The pitch too kept getting worse as the match progressed which didn't help the cause. It was an embarrassment for a pitch, look at the bounce of the ball on which sarfraz got stumped, or the ball that kami missed. Curators should be fired.

I still think if Sarfraz would have played a bit more sensible and knit a partnership with Ervine, They would've chased it down.

1. Anamul Haque and Morne Van Wyk aren't even Pakistan domestic level quality. They have no place playing the PSL.

2. Sean Ervine used to be good for Zimbabwe but he is past it now.

3. Shehzad always flounders in big games, today was no different.

4. Sarfaraz after smashing spinners ran past one despite the fact that he already had two boundaries from that over.

5. Continued selection of a dud like Saad Nasim. Should have given a game to Umar Amin. He might have had a better chance of making a game out of it.

Their bowling effort was pretty good and apart from a last two over blitz from Sammy they were well on their way to restricting the Zalmis to 125-130.

Sarfraz shot was very reckless.

He was looking very good and set for a big one.

Anamul averages 35 in ODIs and 32 in T20s. I would pick him over Hafeez, Rizwan, Umar Akmal.

Ervine scored over 1000 runs at nearly 60 in division 1 of the county championship last year, highly doubt he's past it yet.
