See this is all kind of ironic. This hyper aggressive behavior is exactly the type of breeding ground that allows characters like Trump to thrive.
Since the turn of the century the left is viewed as the "correct" thought of mind and the right is considered wrong. Months prior to this election when Trump was really hitting his stride in letting lose on all sorts of minorities and the opposite gender, it got under few people's skin, namely the liberals, which I guess most of us are.
Instead of reacting in a proper manner the liberals reacted with equal tenacity to anyone considering voting for Trump. Like seriously, you couldn't simply mention you even thought about voting for Trump in public, as you'd get angry looks depending where you were, no different than saying you were considering Hillary in some white neighborhood in Texas.
This only made average people like the ones doing this protest look no better than the few supremacists who parade for Trump and intimidate minorities.
In the US, there are states which traditionally vote republican, it's just a part of their "heritage" if you will, much like Punjabis always voting for PML-N. You cannot get them to change their views by attacking them at a personal level be it physically or verbally, which a lot of people who didn't support Trump did (just look at the California riots when he was announced the winner). You'd see news stories of some shenanigans going on at his rallies where some idiot tried to pull a gun on him, and liberals crashed his parades with hostile chants and behaviors towards his supporters.
The liberals themselves became mini-Trumps in a way. And this fueled his campaign and made Trump supporters more united. Ofc DNC cheating out Sanders was one of the last nails in the coffins for them, because then you have a lying, cheating, killer in the form of Hillary coming to the picture.
She was seen as a symbol of a TTF by the US people, a tried and tested failure who sucks up to the big corporations and won't be a big change of fortunes.
You have to realize that the situation in America atm is not hunky dory, and people wanted someone with a new outlook. Had it been Sanders v Trump, former would've won, no doubt.
But a puppet like Hillary like any other politician vs an unbound mumbling buffoon like Trump, latter was at least smth different. A bad kind of different, but different.
Anyone I talked to in the US, most would be considering Trump. I was shocked at first, but you'd see hostile folks on both sides and then it just becomes a matter of pick your poison.
