Pakistan enter as favourites on paper, boasting depth in both pace and spin, but Afghanistan’s world-class tweakers and UAE’s home advantage could make this a far tighter contest than many expect. Each team faces the others twice before the top two meet in the final under the Sharjah lights.

The more bowling friendly the conditions are, the less the chances of Pakistan winning the series became. If the pitches are sluggish, then we might even see UAE beat Pakistan.

I see this series the biggest threat to the building of new gen Pakistani team. This series is just before Asia Cup (whose wickets will be balanced). If Afghanistan prepares sluggish wickets, Pakistan may see a repeat of what they saw against them a couple years back under Shadab's captaincy.
