Today's exhibition match was held in front of empty stands. The female analysts were complaining that they should have held the exhibition match at night to get prime time viewing but i doubt whether it would have made an difference to the crowd attendances.

India can pull of the women's IPL off because of their financial muscle, true cricket loving population and nationalism but i don't think the Pakistani population will show any real interest in a PSL for women.

Women's PSL will work if invested in properly. You will have to eat the losses for at most a decade.

But sadly, I don't see social and political willingness for it at this moment. India too started WPL 5 years later than possible.

The reason for these exhibition games was to judge interest.

Sethi will see this and then push the event back making some excuse.

There isn't any interest.

The PSL game in pindi for the morning time got alot of crowd even though its a working weekday. The stadium was still packed.

But for women games if Pindi cant bring a crowd here than no one in Pakistan can.

However a women psl can only work if its played overseas, but than it will lose its purpose though of being a pakistani league

Womens PSL was never going to work and it was a dumb idea to even begin with.

The womens ipl won't make profit either, but bcci will be fine because of their financial might.

Womens PSL can work if it is played at the same time as the mens PSL. The same way that the womens 100 was introduced.

It won't work as a stand alone event.

Pakistan women’s cricket team’s head coach Mark Coles is reportedly with Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) alleged decision to hold a domestic cricket tournament without his approval.

According to reports in Pakistani media, PCB has instructed players to assemble in Karachi but is yet to officially announce the schedule or format for the tournament causing unease among the players.

A Pakistan Women’s One-Day Tournament is listed on PCB’s website which was scheduled from May 5th 2023 to May 21st but that has certainly not come to pass.

However, the bigger story is that PCB’s women’s wing did not involve coach Mark Coles or national team captain Nida Dar in any decision-making process regarding team selection or other matters related to the competition.

The New Zealander was described as “infuriated” about PCB’s action.

Coles already left his post as the women’s team’s head coach once and this step may prove to be a catalyst for the same result once again.

The last Women’s Cricket Tournament PCB organised was the three exhibition matches between the Super Women and the Amazons at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan’s women’s team in not currently scheduled to take part in any bilateral series so a domestic tournament makes sense but without the coach and the captain being involved in planning department, it does raise some major red flags.

PCB is yet to comment on the matter.

Bismah Maroof call for a women's Pakistan Super League resonates with the aspirations of many aspiring female cricketers in Pakistan. While interaction with local media she said:

“There are no exhibition matches for women cricketers in PSL 9, which is disappointing."

“Playing with foreign players provides a great opportunity to learn, and sharing the dressing room also benefits."

"The skills improve, which is why our results improved after that."

I don't think Women's PSL would be profitable. I expect it to be gone like PJL.

I expect women's T20 league to be unprofitable in all countries. Women's cricket isn't at that level yet.

There won't be a lot of big sponsors for the women's league and I am not sure how many of the top foreign women's players would be willing to be a part of this league so I am not seeing his league happening for the next few years at least.

PCB is struggling badly with the PSL, you can forget about a T-20 League for U-19 players and women players, its a dead investment. Only the BCCI can pull off a T-20 IPL

This year wpl have sold each and every ticket. Crowd attendance is very good and there were reports in media that it's attendance is far greater than psl attendance in Karachi and multan.its all about marketing and willingness to take losses at first.last year it was free and now they are marketable.

Only extreme feminists probably watch it.

Profits doesn't care about feminism/machoism.
As per u , that all the men's in india are extreme feminists for you to watch the womens game. In pak also are they feminists for not watching the men's game?

Indians are very patriotic and nationalist. In the ICC ODI WC, all of India's games were sold out whereas most of the non Indian games had below par crowds.

Indians truly believe in support Indian, buy Indian, promote India to the entire world in every word and spirit.

Profit or no-profit, a women's PSL would be fun to watch especially if they could get some big name foreign players

Even in odi wc, good teams and weekend non indian matches got decent attendance even after that tickets fiasco. As there are only 9 venues with multiple matches ,people have choice to opt for the best matches.if it's 20 or 15 venues like 96 wc, they must have got more attendance.
I am not sure about pak women cricketer's but indian women will do lot of reels, status updates on social media to get the attention all the time(especially ladies are quite famous among the young gen). They understood its all about pr.so people may think about checking their quality on the field.

Women PSL is not sustainable with the financial situation PCB is currently in. They need to invest money in renovating existing stadiums and make PSL a bigger brand than it is currently.

You're a strange guy. My daughter and I went to watch the WPL last year and I don't know if I fit the model of an extreme feminist. My daughter is 8 so I seriously doubt if she knows how to spell feminist properly.

There's a nice mix of crowd and it's a fun evening out.

Seeing the trend, there's absolutely no doubt it's eventually going to be a success. Never even close to a men's cricket game but I doubt that was ever even the wildest dream.

During press conference when asked about women's league, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi answered:

"We also want a women's league, and we are working on 8 teams [Men's PSL]. Already, Salman Shb has started proper working on it. InshaAllah, if Allah wills, we will provide you with a result on that soon."
