A rivalry rekindled in Lahore - The lights at the Gaddafi Stadium set the tone for a gripping contest as Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings collide in Match 2. Quetta arrive with momentum, having reached the final last season and historically featuring in three finals, including their 2019 triumph. Karachi, champions in 2020, are still searching for consistency after being knocked out in the Eliminator last season. Recent history slightly tilts towards Quetta too, with three wins in the last five meetings adding an extra layer of confidence. The Gladiators' engine room - Quetta’s campaign is built around impact performers. Hasan Nawaz was their standout batter last season, piling up 399 runs in just 10 innings at a strike rate of 162.19, setting the tone at the top, while skipper Saud Shakeel provides stability through the middle. The presence of Rilee Rossouw and Ben McDermott adds experience and flexibility to their batting unit. Their bowling, however, could be the real difference-maker. Abrar Ahmed led the charge with 17 wickets, while Usman Tariq emerged as a surprise package last season, picking up 10 wickets in just five games, a rise that carried into the international stage with 10 wickets in six matches at the 2026 T20 World Cup. Backed by the pace of Alzarri Joseph and the all-round ability of Tom Curran, Quetta possesses a bowling attack that thrives on breakthroughs and momentum swings. Kings banking on experience - Karachi Kings, meanwhile, rely on a strong core of proven match-winners. David Warner led from the front last season with 368 runs in 11 games, including three half-centuries, providing stability at the top, while Reeza Hendricks could play a key supporting role. The middle order has depth with Moeen Ali and Khushdil Shah offering both power and flexibility, alongside the explosive presence of Azam Khan. Their bowling unit is equally potent, with Hasan Ali spearheading the attack after claiming 17 wickets in PSL 2025, supported by the control and variation of Adam Zampa, while players like Abbas Afridi and Mir Hamza add further depth to the pace department. A game of fine margins - With Quetta holding the recent edge and boasting a potent wicket-taking unit, and Karachi countering with experience and batting depth, this contest feels delicately poised. The numbers highlight the match-winners on both sides, but it will come down to execution in key phases, whether it’s Nawaz’s explosive strikes, Abrar’s middle-over control, or Warner’s consistency at the top. In a clash where both teams bring form, firepower, and history, expect a contest decided by moments rather than margins.

So it's 🐂 Azam vs Nafay ,

Warner and Zampa , 2 World class players. Let's hope Agha learns a thing or two from Warner.

Typical Pakistani zero game awareness batsmenship from Saad. Boundary first ball , no runs and thereafter throwing it away.Only the name changes but the method remains same for any pak batsmen.

Agha out strike rate 220 not ideal for Babar and Rizwan fans. :imam

Good score against a fairly decent T20 attack. A lot depends on Hassan Nawaz, Rilee and Khawaja coz Saud aint gonna be much use.

Why can't these fancy leagues be held before T20 WC? Can help all in easily selecting the best XIs

Excellent decision by QG to back him considering he looked exposed in the Bangladesh series

he was awful in is pak debut and i still dont rate him to be honest
The thing is, the guy didn’t bat in the position where he impressed

He’s an opener who targets the powerplay. Every time he came out to bat the field was already spread. So I think it’s fair to judge him only when he’s played in the position he specialises in. He’s no number 3 lol

Plus that was odis in bangladesh graveyards where 80 percent batsmen fails

Brilliant inning by Shamyl Hussain. A breath of fresh air ..he got some amazing hitting power. He is young ..he can be develop into a brilliant T20 Opener ..

Then surely the great players who have opened the innings for Pakistan in T20s should beat his 21 ball 50 no problem....... :rizwan
That’s why I tell these guys to just shut their traps tbh

They have weird standards for the two frauds/conmen but extreme standards for everyone else

Journalists son won’t make over 15 in international cricket. This circus league has made him into prime Hayden.
Does not matter whose son he is but the boy have got some serious power. he should have been selected in T20 but the pakistan genius Selectors select him in ODIs that too in Bangladesh..

What a debut inning from an emerging player. I have never seen a Pakistani debutant play a dominating inning like this at such a young age.
According to these +RizBar fans

He should be Brian Lara at the age of 21

I never understand the hype about Nafay..He got selected in T20 WC. Couple of no look shorts in pakistan can play anyone a star.

Good for Hasan to be out there with Rilee Russow. Hope he learns how to pace an innings from him.
