PSL 2018 Match 23: Sarfaraz Ahmed leads Quetta Gladiators to routine 6-wkt win over Peshawar Zalmi

It might be a MJ knock off, but Wahab looks beastly with that stache :mj

QG have both Shakeel and Ali? Geez, atleast play one of them in place of Mr Technique

That's what I had seen when I made the post. Such a beast :mj

Nawaz with a beauty. Guy has done enough to reamain in both ODI and T20 squad

Hafeez as opener...

Clear sign to Inzi :((

To be honest there is no opener who has done enough to secure his spot to partner with Fakhar. On recent form in domestics Shan and Sahibzada Farhan did enough howver both of them didnt get consistent oppurtunities at the top in PSL

If only LQ hadn't performed so badly and would have qualified instead of these boring PZ, QG types.

I didn't see, but from CI it sounds that the controversy in last game was regarding Afridi's back foot NO ball.

Not sure what happened there, but back-foot NO is different from front-foot NO. In front-foot NO, bowler can step on the line, as long as some part of the heel is behind the line (even a mm); and it's perfectly acceptable that bowler can drag the feet, which means as long as the heel )or it's projection, some bowling shoes these days have inclined heel) is touching the ground behind line at the time of initial stepping (1st contact).

Back-foot NO is about JUST TOUCHING the side line with some part of the heel. In that regard, if Afridi's back-foot (or it's projection) was TOUCHING the edge of side line - it's NO BALL.

Does PZ have any new kid to look forward too. Besides the youngsters Kamran and Hafeez of course.

I am sure MoHa reads posts at PP - doesn't he feel any shame? This is almost elimination game for them and the guy is batting at 65 SR as opener in PP?

Obviously his 2 innings will be sold by Ul Haq, but players playing for 20+ years should have self respect.

He should not have played more than 10 OD for Pakistan. The initial 25 - 30 games his batting was atrocious .

Can anybody explain why Umar Amin isnt playing in place of Asad Shafiq?

Forget self-respect he is all about self-interest. It's close enough.

That time, he was young, used to bowl and he was above average fielder - so I can understand in mid 20s. But, still he is active & searching for opening in every format!!!! At least Malik had the self respect to retire from Test, when he could have easily sucked PTestT for couple more years.

And he even retired on a high just after scoring a double hundred. The rest would have milked that for at least another 3-4 years.

Did Umar Amin use to play in the same club as Sarfraz? Friends 4 lyfe.

He should be thinking as captain of QG and captain of Pakistan rather than Omar Associates. Umar Amin would have been better off in LQ

Hafeez gone, good captain's knock though.

Point is if Bowling was his stronger suit , then he should be competing with second spinners slot not opening slot.

Recipe for a strong PSL team: chose foreign batsmen, pick local bowlers.

How can a shameless person have any shame? Plus. A cheater too.

Quetta has good foreign batsmen so PZ needs 150+

Doesn't look pretty when a guy of Rahat's stature gets a beating like that.

150 odd scores keep the opposition in the game in the PSL, anything above 170 is almost unchaseable and mostly ends in a one sided match.

One general observation for PSL is that teams are finishing 20 overs with under per score, but too many wickets in hand. 188/4 or 180/3 can be explained but 150ish total with 5/6 wickets in hand (actually more - often desperate slogs resulting 2/3 wickets in last couple of overs) - WHICH indicates that the batting order isn't correct. Teams are not pushing to use the batting depth and sending grafters at the top - same strategy every PAK ODI teams uses.

I understand, it's not working for LQ, but that's their failure to finish; not that the strategy is wrong. For T20s, every team these days actually triers to reduce the asking in first 10 (or often scores more that 50% in first 10 overs). The reason is that, slogging has an elasticity - even with 10 wickets at hand, one can't slog 80 in last 5/6 overs. T20 is a game of "Spike" overs - get couple of 20+ overs & may be maintain a 7+ average in other 16-17 overs - that can only happen if top order goes after the new ball, when it's hard & fielders are in ring.

This Babar, MoHa, Ahmed, Asad, Amin .... playing in top 3 is not going to help in any T20s.

So what would your top 3 be for Pakistan in T20?
