PSL 2018 Match 5: Quetta Gladiators destroy Lahore Qalandars, winning by 9 wkts with 6 ovs to spare

:shafiq Players like Tacnic, Rahat The Great etc. make PSL boring, if these duds are replaced by young or up and coming players like Sahibzada, Umaid, Akhtar etc. PSL would be much better.

He’s over-correcting, which is a sign that he isn’t overly confident with his bowling.

Still maintain that Zafar is the best slow left armer in Pakistan.

He just looks like he doesn’t want to be here. If one were to watch how he captains the heat and his attitude there in comparison to this you won’t recognise him.

Zafar is far from the best left-arm spinner in Pakistan. It doesn't matter how good he was a couple of years ago, he's crap now, he gets smashed almost every game, Azam khan smashed him the other day lol.

Asghar is the best young left-arm spinner. Zafar will always remain in his shadow. Nawaz and Hassan are also progressing well so far. And there are also some good left-arm spinners who are a bit older, like M. Irfan, Bhatti, khalid etc.

Among other reason, one is that he is in comfort zone in AUS - on those 200+ roads where he (& his batsmen) can hit through the line and he can operate with 4 pacers. Here in UAE, first his batting plan is going to back fire - it's 150 condition, and his effort is to reach 200. Then he has to operate with 3 spinners - just looking like fish out of water.

Needs to be removed - making easy money for hardly any contribution.

Say what? Zafar has only played a handful of games since returning from a long-term injury. You think he will start taking 5-fers less than one month into his comeback?

He’s making a come back after almost a year out, it’s going to take some time for him to get his rhythm back. Shadab Khan got smashed in that game as well, funnily enough you didn’t mention how he took the most wickets in that game.

Asghar is a pitch dependant bowler, he himself got destroyed for 86 in his last OD outing.
 
:shafiq2 Tacnic is the biggest DUD in this PSL. Can't believe he keep getting selected, even Azhar went unsold.
 
SO far, Mac's bowling order is

Raza, Saheen, Raza, Yasir, Narine, Mustafiz, Narine, Yasir, Mustafiz - that's chaos.

Zafar also get smashed frequently by domestic nobodies.
Funnily enough you didn't mention that Asghar was the best spinner in the last OD tournament, that last game was his worst game, and it was the only game where he was smashed courtesy brilliant capataincy by Tacnic to bowl him in the death overs.

Zafar, Raza and other Duds will always remain in the shadow of Asghar.

M'fizz won't defend 120, but this is not the way you try to defend 120. May be he is expecting QG batsmen will do the same strategy like LQ and try to win or lose it inside 12 overs.
 
Surely, LQ players are confused with duel pondering of Aquib & Mac - this team can't be this poor, even in field.

Zafar is the bigger spinner of the ball, gets more drift and can hold a bat.

Let’s not mention how Zafar completely outclsssed Asghar the only time they’ve played together.

If I am Asad Sahfiq I will be ashamed and will take myself out of the team
 
Only positive thing from LQ today has been Shaheen really bowled well unlucky not to get a wicket

Lol, bigger spinner? More drift? Better celebration?
No matter what Asghar is better performance wise. Zafar is not even good enough to make the starting eleven of domestic teams frequently. No one thinks he's got so much potential in the PSL as well that's why he won't be getting much game time.
Asghar is a first choice spinner for the title holders. Performed well in all 3 PSLs, amd also in domestic cricket he's a consistent performer across all formats.

Zafar can only dream of such things right now

The Yorkshire top leagues are the best paying probably since they have had a few international players play there in the past and they attract a lot of county scouts. In the Bradford Premier League they have had Mohammad Yousouf, Laxman and Kumble play in their league.
 
Shaheen is 135-140 right now in couple.of years he can easily be140-145.
 
Quetta cannot continue to expect Watson to perform in every match like this; Asad Shafiq has to be dropped

Shafiq should stay away from the starting XI, that way he will benefit his team the most.

Their domestic stats are near identical (Zafar’s stats are marginally better) he makes his domestic XI whenever he’s available.

Again you fail to tell me why Zafar completely outdid Asghar the only time they played together.

Zafar’s numbers are good because he used to be a really good talent, but not now.

Hammad Azam's averages 21 in the first class Cricket, he used to be really good but not anymore. Same with Zafar.

Numbers or once in a blue moon performances don't matter.
What matters is the consistency in performance and development.

Again you fail to tell me why Asghar is the first choice spinner for title Holders in PSL and Zafar can't even make the team.

Since when does talent fade away? The analogy of Hammad is poor, he was never talented. Just another overhyped cricketer.

Don’t numbers show ‘consistency in performance’?
Saying things like “Zafar doesn’t even make his teams Domestic XI”. The primary reason he was picked by IU after such a long lay off is Waqar, Waqar rates him.

He didn’t make his teams XI because he isn’t at his best right now, he’s coming off almost a year out of the game, it’s going to take him time to get in the rhythm again.

Gulraiz was so painful to watch. Poor technique, couldnt even rotate the strike, when he tried to hit a shot it would be a wild swing that completely missed.
 
Awful planning and execution from LQ.

Really need to get themselves sorted.......and quick.
