Last I heard, he was still 'undecided'.

Can't be undecided much longer, it has to be a yes or no. I'm expecting a 'no'.

PCB should black list all these players who are not willing to travel. If there is money, players' availability isn't any issue - PCB has to change the draft system like BPL and allow teams to book unlimited foreigners. At present, they are are doing same - lots of players are playing regularly from supplementary, replacement category; just needs to streamline policy.

This'll be really sad for QG, least fancied team to make the KO 3 years, then get screwed like this. Even, BD has made the Final, hence Mahmudullah won't be available for Monday's game.

In Bengali, there is a phrase, which translates like - kill the cat on wedding night. At this rate, instead of cat, PCB & PSL will die virgin .........

What? :))

Next time, KP will tell PCB to arrange half the PSL in UAE, so that he can do the winter shopping .....

The point is - take the control at your hand, you are paying money. If one thinks PSL money isn't sweet enough, he can rest at home. Do you think, bringing fake Englishman (born in Ireland) for 2 games, honor him with Captaincy does make PSL's face bright?

Well, Brighto paints was one of the sponsors of PSL. Jokes aside, I am in accordance with your point about playing players who are willing to travel to Pakistan, however it is also about ratings and every internationally acclaimed name brings more viewers to the screen no matter how brief. I personally think the aim currently is to attract as much media and fan attention as possible and build on it till it is an established league which is majorly played in Pakistan later on.

It's 3rd year of PSL - if still "Star Power" is to drag it, it'll always need some shoulders. T20 doesn't need super stars, trust me, it needs super engagement with fans, and exciting 3 hours. PCB has to find a way to sell PSL without being bullied by "Star" power, and it's quite possible - market is there.

Yes but we are not playing at home in Pakistan unlike BD where people will turn up to watch any player and his dog. PSL has to try everything to remain relevant in these trying circumstances.

My point was indeed considering, "PSL in PAK" situation - remaining relevant isn't working in UAE circumstances to be honest.

Regarding PSL in PAK, I think it's fine to start with any player, because at present even their dogs are not going there much. People are starving for cricket, 9 years and counting - and recalling the response from Robert Mughabe's ZIM tour, that "Phattichar" PSL final and latest World XI tour, I believe even starting with only dogs can work, players can come later.

So we are in agreement. We have to try to get PSL fully to Pak as soon as possible and any publicity it requires to stay afloat till then works.

You indeed understood the relevancy here - completely agree with that. In fact, I am among very few to promote the idea of next PSL entirely being hosted in PAK with whichever player (& their dogs) willing to travel PAK .

Players are bulling PCB, because they know PCB thinks, it's the players that are selling PSL, not cricket. Actually, it's the cricket that's need to be sold. And, I am telling the same thing - more than KP or Watson, PSL has to sell Talat & Fahim - Indians are doing so, Bangladeshis have started as well. Few years back, even I won't have believed that Amair, Hasan, Misbah, Fakhar, Imad, Babar even Afridi would be sitting more in BPL than playing in middle.

Also, PCB's Chairman didn't play smart here - stating so bullishly that every player signed in PSL will have to travel PAK. 1/2 players I can understand, but if players at this rate declines to tour when their team has qualified for the business end, it doesn't reflect commitment, neither PCB's muscles. It's better to keep tight lips, rather than selling cheap bravado to make a hollow sound.
