PSL 9 (2024): Speed Watch Alert! Who will bowl the quickest delivery in the tournament?

So out of the U19 lot:

Zeeshan consistently bowling around 136-138 kph. Bowled a couple at 142kph.

Ubaid Shah 138-145. Bowled a couple at 145kph.

Ali Raza looked considerably quicker than these both, assuming he's hit 150kph at the world cup.

My boy Naseem Shah hitting consistently 140 kmph plus after his comeback, can he touch 150 in this tournament?

Ali Raza did look quicker, and the batsmen might've felt that as well. However, the speed cam doesn't work like that. Some bowlers can read way lower than you'd expect and others read very high but don't rush the batsmen at all. I do like Ali Raza, though. To me, the find of the tournament for Pakistan.

133kph from Naseem but this was the ball that he cleaned up Malan with

Faulty speed gun. He's actually bowling at 115k 🙂

What’s Hunain top speed? Did he hit 140k as well?

Really didn’t expected that Ubaid being the fastest amongst all brothers in this year PSL

We never really in the history of U19 world cups had 3 pacers in our U19 team bowling at 140k+ with two of them touching 145k as well , the second quickest batch was of 2018 where Musa clocked 147k , Shaheen 141K and Arshad 137k as their top speeds but they were slower in both top speed and average speed than the 2024 trio of our U19 pacers.

Great times indeed.

The best thing is we have seen them growing with pace since PJL where both Zeeshan and Ali Raza were bowling early 130ks and Raza top speed being just 133k and Zeeshan top speed being 135k.

Pretty sure Ali Raza must have clocked in the late 140s as he was way way quicker than Ubaid who is also touching 145k.

Haris has slowed down. Hasnain seems probable. He deserves more credit than he gets. The fact that he repeatedly gets injured and has also had to change his action, and still maintain high speeds, must mean he's a natural talent and a hard worker. He needs another consistent run on the national side. Could be a test prospect too. He's also not a whiner. Him and Wasim Jr. are hard workers. Great to see them both together now

Hasnain could be a good test bowler if he works hard and play at least 15 FC games in next two seasons and improve his consistency in hitting the test match hard length (which he is currently good at too) , but he is not suitable for ODIs and T20s as he can't handle pressure at all and also can't bowl yorkers.

He can be a Andy Bichel type test bowler who can be used as a workhorse in the middle overs alongside a good quality spinner.

Shaheen Afridi was bowling at 144-145KPH in his 3rd over today v Karachi Kings. Last ball was 145.7KPH Yorker. This is a positive sign for Pakistan as it is around that range that pre-injury Shaheen used to operate.

Shaheen hit 148.8kph near the end of his spell today.
He definitely looked in better rhythm. Even if the whingers say the speed gun is faulty. It will be faulty by 2-3 kph which means 145-146kph which is still solid.

Speed is definitely up for the likes of Shaheen. Bowling in the 145-plus group is good but the real question is, can he do it consistently? World Cup is coming as well.

Shaheen bowling 144-146 kph. Looks visually much quicker as well. The run up looks smoother. Good signs as he is a pace dependant bowler.

Looks like he's trying to compensate for Rauf not being there. But good signs indeed

Did you noticed that every 2nd bowler is bowling with 140 or plus pace in this PSL? Is this real or bowling machine showing it like this way?

I’ve told everyone many time these speed guns are faulty even the trundlers are clocking 140kph + watch afridi turn into a 130kph trundler once internationals start

It seems as if Shaheen never lost his pace but was just holding back. He said so himself that his pace never went down. Maybe he no longer has the fitness to bowl at high pace in longer formats. That's why he has to bowl slower. My two cents anyway

Shaheens T20 speeds mean nothing especially in these leagues, let's see if he can do it in the T20 WC and the ODI, Test format.

143 from Mohammad Ali. He's no mug when it comes to pace

In PSL 9 it seems they have faulty bowling pace measuring machine. It is showing everyone's bowling speed as 140+.

I must have missed it when Mir Hamza, Willey etc were bowling 140+ and not their usual 130.

With all these faulty machines, maybe the regular 140 bowlers are clocking at 150+. I guess I missed that too.

143kph by Naseem Shah against Peshawar Zalmi. He is a treat to watch. A classical, old-fashioned young fast bowler.

Naseem Shah announces his presence with authority against Lahore Qalandars.

Good to see Naseem hitting line and length with pace. Lethal combo.

Tymal Mills, the speedster from British Isles just bowled a delivery at a pace of 146 kmp/h against KK. Some good bowling too from his side today in the encounter against KK.

PSL 9 was a dissapointment from Speed point of view. Not a single bowler bowled at 150 km/hr. Mayank Yadav in the IPL has already hit 150 km/hr and Alzari Joseph 151.2 km/hr.

Shaheen Afridi

Naseem never clocked 95-96mph. I followed speeds as close as I could. Here the list of bowlers - don’t think anyone hit 150kph apart from Rauf.

Yeah these speeds seem more accurate. I don't think I've ever seen Naseem bowl 95 mph.

Here are the fastest deliveries clocked by Pak bowlers -

Hasnain - 155.1 kph (CPL 2019)

Haris - 155.0 kph (T20 v England 2023)

Shaheen - 154.2 kph (Test Match v SA 2021)

Ihsanullah - 152.6 kph (PSL 2023)

Naseem - 152.0 kph (BPL 2023)

Wasim Jr - 150.0 kph (50 over WC 2023)

Great eye for detail.

Shahnawaz Dahani has bowled in excess of 150 as well.

Never seen Naseem bowl 153kph. Max I saw was 150kph in local Pak t20 cup. That BPL figure I take with a pinch of salt as even Irshad clocked 151kph there but in PSL he couldn’t even clock 145kph this year
The only genuine quick’s we have are Hasnain who bowls fast but garbage and Rauf who is only slightly better. Both are capable of 155kph+
Maybe Naseem one day but at the moment he ain’t no 95mph bowler…

Nope. Hasnain was the one who crossed the 150kph barrier in this PSL. Apart from him, no other bowler was able to match his fastest one.

Yeah 150 kph is what I think is his fastest should be . Thats still very quick.

Hasnain and Rauf are Pakistan's fastest. And a fit Ihsanullah just behind them.

I think the speed guns are off sorry, no way is SSA bowling over 145kph, even in IT20 he barely goes over 140kph.

Sad that Naseem Shah struggles to get over 14kph too.

This new young Indian speedster only 21 called Mayank Yadav broke the IPL speed record tonight with 156.7kph, most of his balls were 155kph plus, and not with some crappy Pakistan speed gun.
The ball He got out Green with was stunning! this young man might be the one to break 160kph, such skills he has.

Speed guns being off is a very lame argument that can be disproven. If speed guns are inflated then everyone will be inflated.

Rauf will be bowling 158
Tymal Mills will be bowling 155
Dahani will be bowling 150
Naseem will be bolwing 150
David Willy will be bowling 140

You get the point.

Shaheen is starting to get his rhythm back and Naseem was consistently in the 140s in the PSL. Even Indian posters have acknowledged the authenticity of PSL speed guns. What are you on bro?

I have never seen SSA bowl over 145kph since he first made the team, not in the PSL he is getting close to 150kph....... I doubt it.
When Naseem first came in to the team he was meant to be the next speedster, but especially in Tests he never crosses 140kph, but he may still improve his speed and wicket taking ability in Tests.

I personally dont think anyone is genuinle fast unless they consistantly cross 145kph in Tests. There arent many, Wood, Nortrie, Starc, Rabada, Bumrah anyone one else?
