Shoaib Malik should be back to lead his strong Punjab side out against Younis Khan's unfancied NWFP team. This match will be very interesting on many fronts not least of all the fact that the actual Pakistan Captain will be taking on many people's preferred choice for Pakistan Captain.

Younis nearly pulled off a miracle against Shahid Afridi's much stronger Sindh side nearly a fortnight ago, what can he do against Malik's Punjab team which isnt as strong (on paper) as Afridi's side.

It's not long until this game starts but unfortunately it wont be televised and there's no ball by ball coverage either so we'll have to rely on the end of day match reports and scorecards!

Below are the Squads for both teams...

NWFP: Younis Khan (capt), Yasir Hameed (vice-capt), Riffatullah Mohmmand, Wajid Ali, Aftab Ahmad Khan, Wajahatullah Wasti, Riaz Kail, Asad Shafiq, Zulfiqar Jan (wk), Aslam Qureshi, Yasir Shah, Khurram Shahzad, Shakeel-ur-Rehman, Nauman Habib, Fazl-e-Akbar, Adnan Raees, Waqar Ahmad, Fawad Khan (wk), Junaid Khan, Samiullah Khan, Umar Gul (will be included after a fitness test).

Punjab: Shoaib Malik (capt), Mohammad Yousuf, Salman Butt, Mohammad Hafeez, Misbah-ul-Haq (vice-capt), Kamran Akmal (wk), Naved Latif, Adnan Raza, Ammar Mahmood, Junaid Zia, Wahab Riaz, Waqas Ahmad, Mansoor Amjad, Mohammad Khalil, Abdul Rehman, Mohammad Salman (wk), Aizaz Cheema, Kashif Raza, Nasir Jamshed, Azhar Ali, Mohammad Asif (will be included in the team after a fitness test).

good effort from the NWFP bowlers.

23 no balls though.

Too many 40's and 50's for my liking. One of Misbah, Malik, or Akmal should have made a big score. It's disappointing to see such a strong batting order be 290 odd for 7 against an average attack on what is most probably a flat pitch.

hey when does the match starts on Geo super

and where can i watch Geo super

asif and gul still not bowling .. not a promising sign.

Gul is in Australia for a final check up before he gets the all clear to start bowling again.

Asif has started bowling in the nets with a shortened run up.

YK scores a century, Wahab Riaz took 3 wicktes; match heading for a draw

A Rehman and W Riaz have done a fine job in recent domestic games. It will be interesting to see who plays if one of the AAG competent breaks down.

another ton for the in form Salman Butt, a half century for Nasir Jamshed and a ton for the oh so reliable Misbah ul Haq.

too many runs for my liking. its becoming too easy for the batsman to score at domestic level.

Im not sure if this has anything to do with Umar Akmal's lack of form in the u19 world cup but if pitches like these are prepared than its understandable why everyone scores at the domestic level.

Don't understand why Jamshed isn't opening with Butt. Why even play Hafeez?
