What's new

Quaid-e-Azam Trophy | Round 1 | Oct 1-4, 2016 | Discussion Thread

Against a Regional side, in a low scoring match. By now, I a, convinced that he might not be that good as his stats tell. There has been enough discussion & Inzi actually has picked many new faces, but still Sadaf failed to make one of the teams.

I don't rate Inzamam at all, as a selector.

I don't rate Inzamam at all, as a selector.

He hasn't done that bad to be honest - he is assembling few teams within available talent pool. Besides, I can sense lots of calls being made by Arthur. Also, he is picking squad for a tour of FC & List A matches - now, if tour thick tank picks Jaahid for List A & then based on that performance, drops him from the 4 day matches, what CS can do?

Come on, man, he has performed against every opposition, on every ground, but the thing is, our selectors are dumb.

He is like 6'4" - so, ideally almost should be an Asif like new ball bowler, but not picked for any teams, which is surprising beyond dumbness. I am sure, I have read somewhere Inzi mentioning his name - may be his fitness is Irfan level. In PAK domestics, pacers need to bowl 12-15 overs/day, which is manageable even for Irfan; but if Sadaf srarts to bowl at 120km on his 2nd spell, it's a disaster waiting. Also, plays for KRL which mightnot be a good idea - need to join PIA or NBL so that he can come out of "North Punjab track bully" tag.

Lefti or right arm?

What is his tentative real age? Height?

Amazed you do not know about Ali Imran Pasha. (As you know almost all)

Not Pasha, I am asking for this young kid taking 4 wickets. Wrong tag though from me .....

There are scorecards of Afghan league, Malayasian leagues, even U19 qualifiers; but why QA Scires are not available in live score page in CricInfo?

It's not that Indian site is boycotting PAK cricket, rather I guess no sync between PCB & CI in this regard.

My best guess is that PCB is not paying cricinfo. Afghan league had to sign a contract with cricinfo for live scores.

That's exactly the case, he is not good enough for international cricket.

Ali Imran Pasha, is a tall right arm fastman with decent pace. Not sure why he has been missing in action in 1-2 seasons, fitness problem ? But whenever he plays, he performs. I was expecting him to make it to national team soon, since I watched him bowling in under 19 WC more than 10 years ago.

U know sadaf isnt good enough for international cricket yet u didn't know Ali imran was injured for a few years.

I have seen them both bowling , not just on TV or vidio clips but in person, on the ground, there is a big difference between both of them. Pasha is a far better nation prospect, Sadaf is a good FC cricketer, not more than that.

I'll reserve my judgement till he gets to play for Pakistani.
3 times he's played for Pakistan A and 2 times he was man of the series.

Well spotted, as soon as I read Ali Imran Pasha 7-20 I was waiting for you!

Thanks for having pointed him out earlier.

When I saw KRL's first innings immediately you clicked me :) I tried to find a thread you made but could not find it.

Another duck my Sadaf Hussain ahem ahem ;)

Wrt Ali Imran this Season seems his last chance. If we gets into Top 3 wicket takers of QEA than He may tour Aus or Nz for Tests. He is 31 but this is his last chance. He has started very well let's see how he goes.

Should I consider that Muhammad Asif is now officially an outcast and that there is no way that he can resume with his career?

I'm surprised that Salman Butt - whose 20 and 50 over performances have reeked of self-interest - chose to apply the Follow-On and ruin his chances of scoring a big innings.

In the same game, please note also:

Mohammad Irfan backed up his first innings 15.1-2-38-5 with 8-0-40-0. I had hoped that he could be of use in the MCG Test, where height is a huge asset, but his fitness still seems inadequate.

Junaid Khan has figures of 12-3-24-1 and 8-2-24-0. I've come to the conclusion that he kept Mohammad Amir's slot warm while he was banned, but is of little or no future utility.

Lahore October 4, 2016: This to stated that due to Aushoora on October 11 and 12, 2016 the second round matches of Quaid-e-Azam trophy 2016-17 scheduled to be played from October 8 to 11, 2016 will now be played from October 7 to 10, 2016.

Aamer Yamin must bat at number 6 for SSGC.

There is no point of him batting below Maqbool Ahmed & Mohammad Irfan. Maqbool hasn't scored a Fc hundred yet while Yamin has a double hundred.

Yamin is wasted at number 8. He is a Proper Batsman.

I have seen them both bowling , not just on TV or vidio clips but in person, on the ground, there is a big difference between both of them. Pasha is a far better nation prospect, Sadaf is a good FC cricketer, not more than that.

We have it on good authority that no contemporary Pakistani bowler looks as good bowling in the nets as does Rahat Ali. Waqar adored him. But Rahat has famously failed to translate his impressive form into actual performances. He just seems to lack a certain something that eyes alone are not capable of spotting. In the final analysis wickets is the only thing that matters. And Sadaf keeps taking them.

The News is that He is with WAPDA squad but will play the Next Round i.e. Second Match.

No Idea why he did not play first match. Nobody knows it. No news that He is Unfit.

PIA have lost against a regional side after 30 years. If there batsman perform this bad than Ali will have less chances.

This Season is last Chance for Ali since he is 31. PIA will have to make semifinals of QEA and Ali has to end up amongst top 3 bowlers of QEA Trophy for which He has to stay Fit throughout the tournament. Than He can make the squad for Australia or New Zealand Tour.

Atif has good List A record. He needs to be amongst top 3 wicket takers of National One Day Cup than He can make Pakistan Odi Team next year.

An Excellent FC season for both may land 1 or both of them a PSL Contract.

Ali Imran is the best bowler in Pakistan Fc Cricket wrt SR of his Last 100 Fc wickets. Infact both Ave & SR of his last 100 Fc wickets is better than last 100 & overall Fc wickets of Sohail Khan, Ehsan Adil, Mir Hamza, Shehzad Azam Rana & Sadaf Hussain. He is a Strike Bowler.
