Quaid-e-Azam Trophy | Super Eight | Round 1 | Dec 3-6, 2017 | Discussion Thread

Abdullah719 any truth to the rumours PTV have retained their First Class status for next year?

It's mostly players who are already established in the team, so it doesn't really matter. Might even be better because younger players might get chances.

Babar AZam should be playing QEA trophy...what the crap is he doing there.we all know he should bat for long in Fc if he wants to be an established test cricketer.

Younis Khan is playing for UBL.

Looks like Hafeez opened the innings for SNGPL. :hafeez2

What did you expect - he is now specialist bat and there are 1 lose openers’ slot available (2 actually, if MoHa puts some decent scores in domestics, Azhar’ll decline to open again).....

Called long back - ICC has done a great damage to PAK cricket by blocking his path into the team as all-rounder - some young opener will pay for it.

Sadaf hussain.Rizwan hussain and Saad ali going with good performances..Good to see Ahmad Bashir back.

On what merit umar akmal playing longer format of cricket? He made 20 off 16 balls and got out. That's his temperament not batting more than 3 to 4 overs.
He is so finished that even big/small t20 leagues are not interested in him.

20 off 11.

Give him some credit, he almost batted two full overs. :uakmal

9-32 from Waqas Maqsood.

What is going on with the batting this season, once again we're seeing some atrocious scores.

This is the first time I'm hearing of it.

Apparently FATA fielded a player (Fawad Khan) that was on PTV's payroll in their match against PTV. The match ended in a draw but PTV lodged a complaint and they have now been awarded the points (6). As a result, PTV are safe while NBP have been relegated to GrII.

If true, good news for Saud Shakeel but bad news for the likes of Ahsan Ali.

Perhaps Saj can shed some light?

That's a pretty bizarre thing to have happened.

Just checked now, I see some rumours on social media etc. about this.

PCB have obviously not stated anything. :najam

The standard of pitches in the last 2 seasons(especially this year) has been pathetic to say the least how are ours bowlers supposed to learn how to set up batsmen on flat tracks(that are a norm In Test cricket these days) when they are getting pitches like these

The worst part is that they are getting even worse as the season goes on.

Good to get official confirmation.

That said, it took the PCB nearly a month to officially confirm it, and even then that took some prompting.

Never change. :najam

Assalamoalaikum Warehmatullah e Wabarakatohoo. Hope you are fine.

You are doing a fine job on PP. I want to appreciate you.

Ahsan Ali is very talented, highly skilled batsman.

He

1. Fitness trainer

2. Sports psychologist

He cannot afford either because He has not got financial resources like Ahmed shehzad for instance.

This season has been terrible for him. National T20 Cup was golden Oppurtunity for him but he failed miserably. He had a miserable Qea trophy aswell.

If in future He does not get Asad Shafiq's vote he might than eveb lose out on domestic T20, List A & FC aswell.

YOU NEED PERFORMANCES. SIMPLE.

oh nooooo Sadaf hussain just got 1 inning because of poor batting by KRL , he would have easily taken over sohail khan as the leading wicket taker

Umar Akmal scores a century, he needs to score way more consistently before even being considered for a national call-up.

That's an excellent knock from Umar to set the game up for his team. Given them a good chance of winning the match tomorrow.

Unless Umar can sustain performances for a season, he should be nowhere near the team.

Oh no! First Akmal now Shezzy performing I hope these single performances don't earn them a call-up. Though I would consider them if they preform consistently.

Shezzy is just a plain mediocre batsman. Umar actually had talent

I understand the situation with the Akmal brothers and why Pakistani people have lost patience with them, but I think they can be given a chance in both tests and LOIs line up.

Kamran can still be a better test opener than Shan/Sami/Shehzad.
Umar Akmal can also slot into the middle order ahead of Hafeez in LOIs.

You can also try Imam as a test opener but that still leaves a place open. Trying Kamran or Salman Butt will not be a bad option.

Forget the past, live in present.

SAlman has not scored much in FC.

our test team must be:

1. Azhar Ali
2. Ahmad Shahzad
3. Babar azam
4. Haris Sohail
5. Usman Salauddin
6. Asad Shafiq
7. Sarfraz ahmed
8. Mohammed Aamer
9. Yasir Shah
10. Raza Hasan/
11. Mohammed Abas

bench:
12. Sami Aslam
13. Saad Ali
14. Mohammed Irfan (Leg spinner)
15. Mir Hamza
16. Hassan Ali

Kamran Akmal in QEA: 325 runs at an average of 36 (usually batting at #5).
Salman Butt in QEA: 272 runs at an average of 19

These are our saviours? :danish
