Quetta Gladiators star all-rounder Shahid Afridi has tested positive for Covid.

He will do quarantine at home following PCB’s protocols.

He will reintegrated into the squad after seven days of quarantine and negative test.

So he came out of the bubble - and has comeback with an infection?

It was always probable given that he visited a hospital to meet a relative. At the end of the day, the virus is raging throughout Karachi so it's fairly easy to be infected if someone is not in a biosecure environment.

The PCB should be more strict with the bubble, otherwise there's a strong likelihood that the tournament is forced to finish with domestic players only.

More for QG to consider - its their loss

It's no use. Covid will breach any bubble and win.

The PCB should just stop giving it any more attention and hold the tournament like it's 2019. Crowds at 100%, no bubbles, doctors etc.

He shouldn’t be even playing. He is way past his best. He is only playing because of his popularity.

Lets hope he hasnt infected any other players.

He went to the hospital a day before being tested positive for COVID, I might be wrong but I don’t think tests can detect whether someone has covid or not after being exposed a day before. He likely had it in the bubble before leaving and that would mean everyone who came into contact with him should be isolating.

There are some rumors going around that he might not play the PSL and Quetta is requesting him to feature in atleast 2 matches......

Some family members health problem is going on. Or else he would had never been asked to quarantine by staying at home..

We all know Lala doesn’t like staying in the bubble. Did the same in Lanka League. He has better things to do outside as well so yeah not sure if he will play but should play few games.

Hassan Khan comes in as partial replacement for Shahid Afridi who is under isolation after testing positive for COVID-19

Hassan was part of the list of 15 players who are part of the Managed Event Environment.

As per reports:

Shahid Afridi’s rapid antigen test (RAT) will be conducted on Tuesday (tomorrow) and if the test comes back negative, he will join the team in their match against Islamabad United on February 3
