Bit of a Rameez Alam fan as I'm from a Multan background and kept track of some of his scores this domestic season and boy has the guy impressed !

He was brilliant for Multan Tigers and averaged 48 in the recent Faysal Bank T20,the top scorer for the Tigers, better than Gulraiz Sadaf and Naved Yasin.

He has a First Class average of 40.97 and his highest score is 222* so he can go on to make some big scores.Seems better in the batting department than Sarfraz Ahmed and Zulqarnain Haider and his keeping surely can be no worse than Kamran Akmal's.

He's 21 years old so a bit raw but has been playing FC cricket for 3 years and has been impressive since.

Also a good limited overs bat,List A average of 35 at a SR of 71.

Wouldn't be surprising to see him crop up again in the future. This QAE Trophy is particular is going to be huge as there are a lot of gaps in the team, especially after the spot fixing saga so if youngsters like Rameez Alam can perform then surely the selectors will come calling.

Anyone else seen him play ?

I haven't seen him play but those stats aren't anything special tbh.
The only good thing here is his age and, even then, he's not that young.

Those aren't that good of stats, considering, they play on the flattest wickets..

IE not every wicket in Pakistan is flat. During this time of year at times wickets in punjab can seam.

Erm.. Those stats are ok considering he's a WK. Not as bad as some of you are making them out to be.

:)) Disregard his rather controversial names but remember this guy is a keeper and thats very impressive for a player in a country where there hasnt been a good, solid wicket-keeper batsmen in a long time.

Well while that average is superb, the SR is poor.

He didn't keep in the recent tournament, though. And nor did he keep in his last First Class game. Seems like a part-timer to me. :shafiq

hybrid version of rameez raja (failure) and fawad alam (failure) can never be a success.

fawad alam is not a failure dude , is one of the better young batsmen pakistan have right now. Plays very well in one days and tests. PCB doesnt know anything about how to use a player. Fawad alam is not a t20 player , he is a test match player , then why play him in t20s and not give chances in tests. He has got the best first class average in longer format for any current pakistani player. simon katich does not play one days for that particular reason because he is good in tests not in t20s and one days
