People should have listened to Aqib Javed's interview. Aqib openly mentioned that Raza Hassan had come from a very impoverished background and it is no secret that Hassan used to keep bad company and it was no surprise that he was banned after testing positive for Cocaine.
After the 2012 T-20 World Cup, he suffered a severe back injury which sidelined him for almost 1-2 years, he made his comeback into the Pakistan squad in 2014 but was banned after failing a drugs test.
During that time period he disappeared in the UAE and since then he has been living door to door with some acquaintance or friend. Apparently even though his ban was over, he still was very impoverished and struggling financially and Aqib found him playing on the streets and he took Raza Hassan under his wings, made sure he went through a 5 month rehab process where he took care of his diet, got him clean and urgently bought him up to speed on Cricketing fitness and now Raza Hassan is selected as a player with Lahore Qalanders
Had Raza Hassan been left to his own whims, been left to the system, he would have been a gone case for sure. Just makes you wonder what would have been had the PSL existed when someone like Mohammad Zahid was around and would he have been discarded and forgotten in the manner that he was.
