People should have listened to Aqib Javed's interview. Aqib openly mentioned that Raza Hassan had come from a very impoverished background and it is no secret that Hassan used to keep bad company and it was no surprise that he was banned after testing positive for Cocaine.

After the 2012 T-20 World Cup, he suffered a severe back injury which sidelined him for almost 1-2 years, he made his comeback into the Pakistan squad in 2014 but was banned after failing a drugs test.

During that time period he disappeared in the UAE and since then he has been living door to door with some acquaintance or friend. Apparently even though his ban was over, he still was very impoverished and struggling financially and Aqib found him playing on the streets and he took Raza Hassan under his wings, made sure he went through a 5 month rehab process where he took care of his diet, got him clean and urgently bought him up to speed on Cricketing fitness and now Raza Hassan is selected as a player with Lahore Qalanders

Had Raza Hassan been left to his own whims, been left to the system, he would have been a gone case for sure. Just makes you wonder what would have been had the PSL existed when someone like Mohammad Zahid was around and would he have been discarded and forgotten in the manner that he was.

Need more of this, can't just brush these players under the carpet. They need help PCB should provide this.

Wow credit to Aquib Javed for this. Raza should be indebted to Aquib. Also, I am surprised how he managed to do cocaine if he comes from such a poor background. Isn't it one of the most expensive drugs?

Bone and Joint pains are very intense pains and invariably need morphine derivative analegsics. After few days, You need either high doses or a self made cock-tail euphoric that you have to fetch from 'Group'. Once into the group, youth is your privilage.

Not saying that Raza Hassan got addicted in this way, but i have seen bone fracture patients ( including very rich and very poor, illiterates and Highly educateds) through this cycle.

Once into the group, Youth is your privilage and you get gift doses.

I’m not a fan of Aqib but massive credit to him, he has potentially done a great service to Pak cricket but most of all he has hopefully helped turn around a persons life

Only makes sense if he does something for LQ - else, this is not a charity; Only those who can deliver should be in the team.

What Aqib has done is greater than cricket. He has helped turn a person's life around.

Maybe you should tell that to Sethi too who has spent over 150k on personal expenses as it was in a report recently.

He is delivering and the PSL is an example of that.

Never understand the Aqib hate. The guy left cricket when he felt he was not upto it and atleast better than some other 90s legends who were involved in all kinds of ill doings and clueless about current Pakistan domestic players.

Always find him hunting and supporting young talent. Pak won u-19 wc 2004 under his coaching too. Plus if not for Aqib we would have never saw the potential of Irfan, Ehtesham, Haris Rauf etc. Lahore Qalandars has the best talent hunt program as compare to other franchises thanks majorly because of Aqib. These kids might not be in consideration now but I am sure few of them will make National side in some years.

About bowling actions, I dont think he is that awful. Anwar's and Ghulam's actions were injury prone and if not for Aqib changing their actions, they would have followed Usman Shinwari in serious injuries.

The lad is one of the few spinners in the country who could play all formats and do well so yes the investment is worth it.

And so is raza QEA is an example of that.

I dont have a problem with that but I object to people saying Aaqib's done Raza a favour. If Raza is good then he should be picked but not by doing raham on him

If Raza performs anything like he did in the past he will be back in the national team

Most Shrewd Limited Overs Spinner available in Pakistan.

Dearly missed in PSL.

Hope he gets picked somehow.

His First Class Century was really eye catching and he was destined to become an A grade All rounder before the Ban.

LQ shouldn't have dumped him and Agha Salman.
