Are they only the second foreign group after Suzuki to be building cars in Pakistan?


They have been building cars in India since 2010. I doubt they are doing all that well there, although I have seen a few Dusters on Indian roads.

The Duster is actually the Datsun Duster abroad. In India, it's re-badged as the Renault Duster.

Similar to the Mahindra/Renault Logan venture. This seems to be Renault's ploy in India, but they ain't winning against the likes of Maruti and Hyundai.

Yes Volkswagen also signed deal to build a plant near Karachi. Should come online in 2019-2020.

the only problem with renaults are they always breakdown, good looking cars but the electrics always goes....

Volkswagen is good because they're the biggest player in the market with sub brands such as Audi, Skoda and many more. Plus, a Volkswagen is an affordable, reliable car with great mpg. They can really out do the Japanese lot. However, Pakistanis are reluctant to change so a lot of marketing is needed for Volswagen to do well.

Its know as Dacia Duster abroad, not Datsun duster.
