As per a reporter, Zaka Ashraf has expressed his discomfort with all decisions taken by Sethi and Co and has specifically asked PCB's legal team to check for a way to let go of Mickey.

I believe this is exactly why Mickey did not give up his Derbyshire job.

No matter your opinion on Mickey, terminating him in this way also terminates the prospect of any professional foreign coach ever taking up a postition for Pakistan.

Well, Mickey will get an early hefty payday

Well played Mickey

I knew this was gonna happen, whoever PCB would hire that person's job will last till the govt in power and the political instability.

Arthur played smart and took this job and didnt leave the current one he holds. He will now get atleast half pay of his contract period.

The biggest buffoon here is going to be PCB. The new coach they bring in, they will pay him and mickey aswell.

Basically the issue for Zaka is not Mickey, but the fact that if anything good happens under Mickey than credit will go to Sethi. THats how petty this guy is.

Like i said, this guy toured India to get in the good books of the fans, this guy is very petty and pathetic

If Mickey was appointed as a regular head coach, I don’t think the new PCB administration would have had any issues.

The real problem is the absurd online consultancy role. It is complete nonsense. Mickey will get a hefty paycheck every month and Pakistan cricket will not benefit from it.

At the international level, the role of an actual head coach is minimal, let alone the role of an online consultant who will not even be with the team. His role would have been non-existent.

It is difficult to feel sorry for Mickey. He pulled off a scam and exploited Sethi’s obsession with him.

Thats petty, but if he brings someone like a Hesson or flower, who can argue. But this really could be aamir sohail doing his thing on zaka ashraf.

Once Zaka is replaced, the incoming chairman will want to replace the coach Zaka brought.

There is a reason why good coaches won't touch the PCB.

To be honest, these are just rumours so let's see how this goes.

I was against his appointment from the start, not because of who he is as a person (he is very decent) but that his track record as a coach is pretty average to say the least. His stint at Derbyshire is not proving the contrary.

However, by establishing a priori, that a foreign coach was required, that pretty much reduced the field.
Even Mickey didn’t want that gig full-time.

No half-way sensible foreign coach will take on the Pakistan coach role.
So, take sub-standard foreigners or take someone from Pakistan.
Some of the names bandied around on here are truly delusional — which foreign coach would want to attract the ridicule of their peers by becoming part of the farcical PCB set-up (under any guise, under any political leadership, it is beyond parody)however much they get paid (franchise cricket will pay just as well).

Forget foreign coaches, even a local coach will think twice about joining if they remove Mickey Arthur like this.

Agree or Disagree with Mickey Arthur's appointment, you have to give someone at least 1-2 years to provide results before deciding to move on. Mickey is a big upgrade over the likes of Misbah, Saqlain
