As per reports:
Cricket's popularity is surging in the USA, primarily driven by the large South Asian immigrant community.
PSL Chief Salman Naseer is reportedly visiting multiple USA cities to explore cricket opportunities, while PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who previously visited the USA during Donald Trump’s inauguration as Pakistan’s Interior Minister, is also involved in cricket-related discussions.
The USA cricket scene is heavily influenced by Indian team owners and associations, making it challenging for Pakistan to establish its presence. However, the PCB is committed to entering this lucrative market and is actively working on plans to strengthen its footprint.
As part of its strategy, the PSL will introduce two new franchises in season 11. Discussions are underway with two Pakistani stakeholders active in USA cricket, and one is expected to secure a team. Additionally, a key figure in Pakistan cricket has shown interest in owning a franchise, hinting at a competitive bidding process.
The PCB is also exploring the possibility of hosting PSL matches in the USA. While still in the initial stages, this initiative marks the PCB’s official efforts to tap into the growing cricket market in the USA.
