[REPORT] PCB to prepare spin-friendly pitches for Pakistan vs South Africa T20I & ODI series

According to reports:

PCB has directed curators to avoid preparing flat batting tracks for the upcoming T20I and ODI series, aiming instead for spin-friendly conditions to neutralize South Africa’s powerful batting lineup.

Sources also indicate that team selection discussions are underway, with a strong possibility of including an additional spinner. The decision follows Pakistan’s impressive start to the tour, having taken a 1-0 lead in the Test series after a 93-run win in the opener.

The white-ball series kicks off with three T20Is from October 28 to November 1, followed by three ODIs from November 4 to 8. With matches set across Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Faisalabad, expect a strategic shift in home conditions as Pakistan looks to press its advantage.

If the spinners are set to play a major role, which bowler do you think deserves a spot in the white-ball squad—and why?

Another question is Should PCB prepare such tracks???
 
What a joke.

They should stick to the same pitches we prepared in PSL and challenge this team to compete with a top team on flat pitches.

We really are trying to mirror Bangladesh in every single way MashaAllah :ghalib

What is the proof that you will get 130-150 tracks in Colombo or wherever you play in Sri Lanka????

There was NO DOUBT that the SA Batters would have smashed the Pakistani bowlers so hard on the traditional flat PSL decks. And the Pakistani batters now with Babar in the side would have fallen with below par scores every game!

This is what happens when you keep trying to adjust these crap players into the side!

You guys were crying the most throughout the last 2-3 months because your favourites were not in the T20 side.

How does it feel knowing Pakistan are now going down a coward Bangladeshi cricket route to somehow make your favourites appropriate for this format and also to nullify the batting firepower of SENA teams?????
 
Unless pak is practising against kuldeep,varun, rashid, noor etc in wc,its a downright clownish process. At this rate , no sena will send its A team as.They know its a complete waste of time to play on such pitches in limited formats.

Bro isn't a good idea against sena teams to employ spin tracks don't gove them flat pitches

You should quit watching cricket when Babar retires. Everything for you is centered around him even when it has nothing to do with him lol. There's actually a cult of people like this. That's what happens when your main source of info is Wasay and Iffi.

the goal here isnt to get rizwan to play, but for Pakistan to win.

I am all for 20 wickets being taken rather than having a batting paradise. Now if those wickets are taken through pace or spin i dont care.

I will like my team ( in this case , pak) to compete with the best teams on standard pitches in limited formats.I dont want my team to act like Bangladesh style where they will conduct the majority of the matches in mirpur to secure the series and goes on hiding in tournaments/ outside of it. Even though my team lost the series , I will prefer the experience and hope them to win the tournaments later.
 
@Rana not everything is about Babar and Rizwan man.

This is Aqibs dumb suicide mission plan all along after we won against England. He was happy to drop Babar for that series for his inability to place, so I find it hard to believe that he will prepare turners to get Babar back, no matter what some ex pundits say.

Aqib decided to wreck our cricket but Jamel Warrican put a short term stop to it so he couldn't fulfil his plan to make all Pakistan pitches from top to bottom like Mirpur Bangladesh.

You need to stop pointing the gun and RizBar and point it at Aqib Javed here! He is going to turn Pakistan into a tiddly winks team where geriatric spinners lob gentle spinners and get 10fers. He must be stopped.
 
this is rubbish and hopefully false news. For tests it’s fine to have spin wickets but play LoIs on modern pitches specially if you want to keep up with the rest

I don't think Mirpur strategy is good thing over a long period even in the test format. For short period, it's a fine and may be even needed.

But in limited overs, it's outright poor way to go. Tournaments have normal tracks so what's the point in playng on rank turners against any team as practice. Teams anyway experiment in blaterals but most teams will simply not see limited overs in Pakistan even as practice if pitches in limited overs are big turners. Oposition and Pakistan, both will have very little to gain from playing in such pitches.

So how the hell was this goal not being achieved without Babar and Rizwan???
 
I certainly don't mind Pakistan not producing just flat tracks as that would be pointless preparation for the WC. In SL, the pitches are likely to be a bit like what we saw in UAE with 160-170 being par scores. I am fine if they build pitches like that to give our batters as many games as possible to get used to pitches like that but obviously if they prepare extreme pitches like in Bangladesh/Sharjah, then that is an issue. Something that's a bit two paced and offers some spin is likely what we'll see in SL so if its like that, I don't think its an issue as long as par scores on those pitches are still around 160-170 & and not 120-130 like Mirpur/Sharjah.
 
Let them prepare these pitches when they will come up against quality spinners they will retreat with tails between their legs also in tests they have to prove they can win on these pitches batting second they are not going to win every single toss luck will run out soon
 
Lots of overreaction here. The pitches will not be rank turners.

Besides, any wicket is better than our traditional lifeless tape-ball pattas.

I said that in context to your post. You are indicating that the spin wickets are being to accomodate or help rizwan, while they are making them to get wins.

They are doing it to justify the crap strike rates of your favourite players

We are not stupid! How will they justify Babar or Rizwan ending up at a sr of 130 in 2-3 games when a guy like Brevis hits it at 220 on the same deck if it’s a road??
 
problem will be even bigger for Pakistan because they will struggle more on spinning tracks and if South Africa bat first game could already be over for Pakistan.

Why would they make a spin wicket when babar sucks on it?

Besides, aqib is making this decision and you support him
 
Good decision b/c babar will fail and eventually dropped. Hopefully they dont bring rizwan as his replacements. Selectors and people cant see beyond these two for replacements.

Think it plays into Rizbar’s hands…with everyone else playing slow it’ll allow them to play their natural game which is to stat pad.
 
Why PCB is afraid of losing in ODIs? Is there some ODI championship also going on? Pathetic decision if true
 
T20 is for entertainment. I am sure SA will field some second string team. Nobody goes out of the way to create pitches to win bilateral T20s.
