Cant wait.

I hope Ashwin plays to provide some kind of a challenge to the SA batsmen.

With Ashwin suffering a side strain in Kanpur, Harbhajan Singh is likely to play alongside Amit Mishra in the spin role. India may also look at changing the personnel in the pace department; Mohit Sharma could come in for Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

India (probable) 1 Rohit Sharma, 2 Shikhar Dhawan, 3 Ajinkya Rahane, 4 Virat Kohli, 5 MS Dhoni (capt & wk), 6 Suresh Raina, 7 Stuart Binny, 8 Harbhajan Singh, 9 Amit Mishra, 10 Bhuvneshwar Kumar/Mohit Sharma, 11 Umesh Yadav

Screw this.

Its like we are picking the worst playing XI INTENTIONALLY.

I won't be unhappy with a loss. Maybe an 0-5 might be the best thing to happen to us.

Damn...

It will be near impossible to win the series without him.

Its amazing how he has suddenly become the best player in the team in all formats despite the presence of Kohli, Dhoni and the likes.

Yeah...haha funny.

He is literally like 50% of our bowling in ODIs (its only 50 cos he can bowl only 10 overs).

In tests in Asia, he is like 60-75% of our bowling.

It was pretty funny and SAD to see how Dhoni removed him after picking up the De Kock wicket (and his reasoning wasn't all that bad). It was a move to desperately hold on to the only asset to fight the rampage that was about to come.

It will be interesting to see if he has permanently changed for good or its some amazing 1-2-3 year purple patch.

Almost feels like he will trouble anyone right now. Hope he makes it to the test series or else we are screwed.

Don't understand what's the problem in picking gurkeerat? Instead of ttf's like Mohit

What's also funny is how Rohit has become the mainstay of our odi batting over the last one year.

Yeah but Dhawan is our most clutch ODI batsman along with Raina.

But Rohit's impact is growing and growing these days.

In Asia, he is like Bradman these days. Literally.

Thinking about cheering for SA today through cricinfo scores. Considering.

Don't wanna watch this crap today.

Bro I think Dhoni will retire from international cricket after the world t20 next year, especially if he is playing like this. I don't think Dhoni will cost us any major odi trophy.
I'm pretty sure the passengers in the team will be asked to leave in a few months time regardless of the outcome of this series. That is why no use in supporting an Indian loss, we should win :)

this is really strange. cricinfo always put india matches top of any other. they haven't today, you have to scroll down to see the preview

since when were asian pitches high bounce :13:
Where did I say 'high' bounce? Easy bounce meaning pitches where the ball comes on nicely, also called a road.

To your point, Lahore has pretty good bounce and there are many pitches in North India which are pretty bouncy. Just recently the pitch in the 1st t20 at Dharamsala was quite bouncy.

Surely an Indian tour can't be this easy. 3 wins from 3?
Logic more than anything else tells us nothing but a crushing defeat is around the corner.
I'll be very upset to win the ODI series only to lose the tests. Can't get my hopes up like that, rather lose them both, lick our wounds, then moan about a tough tour and move on.

who cares about pretty bounce. We need more high bounce pitches in Asia, they will help to prepare for Aus and SA.

R Ashwin, Stuart Binny and Amit Mishra go out. Axar Patel, Harbhajan Singh and Mohit Sharma have been included.

I want harbhajan to get reported today. This is the only way to get rid of him.

Pathetic from Dhoni! No mishra but Axar patel. The same Axar that single-handedly cost us the match in Dharmasala. This team deserve to lose!

Sorry but dhoni is just plain retarded.
No other way to put it, he leaves out Amit mishra the one guy who looked like troubling the saffers for a guy who can neither bat or bowl i.e Axar
Dhoni has truly lost his marbles, should retire for good now.

I wouldn't even be confident of defending 400 with this joke buffet bowling.
Anyway will just watch the first half of the match for India's batting and then switch off.

He is our next vinay kumar. On a serious note i want this indian team to lose badly, so that likes of mohit, rayudu, Binny, harbhajan singh would be kicked out for good.

I always thought BCCI is better than PCB in terms of giving chances to new and deserving players. But from what i have seen, Mishra back, Bhajji back, some favoritism here and there. I am not against Mishra and Bhajji, but Asian countries do not think about their future. Look at other countries Africa, Nz, Eng, Aus, they are trying to give chances to new players in the big series. They are not afraid of defeat, they want to build a team with the pinch of new talent and investment in them. They always think about WC. But our Asian countries, they don't invest properly in their players. It seems they are afraid of defeat in bilaterals, that's why they are sticking with poor performers and TTFs.

Dhoni please retire, you have officially lost it. We lost Ashwin and now you get rid our second bowler who was troubling SA last match for Axar

ugh harbhajan. well done bcci, u truly have proven that u are the top dogs in the game.

Btw, i have watched last match. And tbh, Mishra bowled better than all, but why is out of the team? As far i know, he is not injured.

if i were in Saffer tea management i would be tempted to give a rest to Steyn, Morkel, AB and Amla in atleast 2 of the next 4 matches.

I think some 10-15 years back, we used to give a lot of chances to younsters. Yuvraj Played his first match for India of 20, Raina at the age of 19, Dhoni at age of 24, Harbhajan at the age of 20, Kohli at age of 21, Robin uthappa at age of 21, Rohit sharma at age of 20, Ishant at the age of 18.

That culture helped to win the World cup.

Now we don't follow that culture. We are happy to give chances to tried and tested failures

if anyone that deserved to be dropped, it was Rohit Sharma. The guy has proven manhoos this tour so far :moyo

voww what a pathetic shot from Sharma that was. didn't expect this swing I guess.

Wow Rabada already have 14 international ODI wickets? I feel like yesterday when i saw him bowling in U19 WC last year.

What no Mishra? He was the only good bowler in the line up & he doesn't even make it to the XI due to his batting? This is a joke. India's definitely losing this one.

Rahane takes time to get going. SA would like him to stay for a while..:P

Mishra back is actually a good decision. He should have been a regular in the Test side but Dhoni didn't believe in him. After coming back, he has been superb in the test series in SL as well as the first ODI. Troubled both the sides that are good against spinners.

And after good performance, he is out of the team.

Always support India even if they lose all the matches in the series. People who run away from their team at tough times are Farji fans :moyo

This isn't about tough times.

Cmon. You know the difference between fair weather fans and being annoyed to the core at the lame stuff happening.

How can we look at this lineup and not be filled with disgust? Why was Mishra dropped?

Because he refused to serve biryani.

Tu bahut zyada tension na le bhai. We cant do anything about team selection, can we? Agreed Mishra should have played but MS summed it up perfectly. A Mishra coming to bat at 7 weakens the batting line up severely especially with Ashwin out. Akhsar and Bhajji together can be a 1 batsman in these conditions. There is bit of a merit in it though.
Also I dont crib much about selections. As a fan and supporter we must support the playing XI representing our country. I would always do that even if India features 11 handicap men on field.
Look at Pak fans...they had few years of very tough period in cricket. But their fans always stuck to their team and that is something I really appreciate. Unlike us where we cry for everything.

Not tensed. Pretty calm actually.

Just annoyed.

Pakistan fans are way more vicious than us. Way way more.

Bro bowlers duty is to bowl good, not to bat good.

JP (the bowler) has really taken a nose dive. He's been crap/ordinary since at least the Bangladesh tour. I remember him being extremely handy.
