Rumman Raees vs Usman Khan Shinwari

Rumman Raees vs Usman Khan Shinwari - Who should be the third pacer?

With Amir and Hassan established as obvious choices for first 2 seamers, and junaid Khan more often than not getting the nod due to his vast experience..the question now rises with 2 very promising young fast bowlers to get the go ahead. If I were to be honest, before today's spell..I would always consider Rumman as the better option due to his ability to produce wonderful spells...however, Shinwari's rampage this morning has got all of us thinking. This guy can be more than a handful if he gets reasonable conditions and the new ball.

Both are phenomenal talents tbh, but who would you select out of the two?

Raees is much better, one of the smarter cricketers that I have seen come out of Pakistan and it shows in his bowling, his type of bowling with variations will make you succeed in todays pitches, just take a look at hasan, who is smart and has variations as well

Shinwari needs to swing the ball the other way. Raees needs to improve his bowling in the middle. Haven't seen Usman at the death in international cricket so far, so right now, it's neck-to-neck between the two.

Rumman, but he needs to improve his bowling in the middle overs, he leaks runs and doesn't get many wickets either.

There isn't a a single bowler in Pakistan that can swing it as much as Shinwari can. And he can bring it back to the right hander too.

For those concerned about his ability at the death, watch him nailing yorker after yorker in the PSL.

to be honest, Amir's place in ODI's may be pushed a little if he doesn't become more consistent

for right now, I'd go with Raees as the third seamer- he's more versatile and can be used in many different situations

If anything amirs place should be questioned

I would definently question Amirs selection in test team

Thread should be Shinwari vs Wasim Akram. That is a more apt comparison.

Rephrase: Shinwari vs Rumman vs Amir vs Junaid.
If I have to select two Will go for Rumman and Shinwari.
Keep in mind, Amir is not automatic choice.

Junaid Khan is the worst pacer of the lot. He still cannot swing the ball and his pace is also mostly in mid 130's from what I've seen.

Rumman and Shinwari seem to be similar kind of bowlers. Only one might get the nod.

Keep them all around and rotate, seems like they are all in great form:

Amir
Junaid
Rumman
Hassan
Shinwari

Has to be Shinwari. He's cemented his place in the side for a least a short time with that performance.

I like Raees but he hasn't done as well enough to put him ahead of the rest. I think even Junaid has slightly better stats/performances in the same matches they've played.

Both. Rotate all the bowlers and manage workload. With these 4-5 seamers we can rule the world for years

If anything Amir position in the playing XI needs to be questioned, this should be a kick in the backside for him.

Sick and tired of watching him giving half a** performances for a while, needs to show the same intensity he showed in the final vs. India. Can't just sit back and be entitled to a position in the starting xi.

problem is 4 of them are left-hand bowlers and only 1 is right-hand bowler; Pakistan need to drop one of the left-hand bowler from this group for a new right-hand bowler

Rumman Raees is better because of his variations and he can swing the ball both ways. He is also quiet clever and mentally strong . Only thing that goes against him is that he is 5 kph slower than Shinwari.

Never mind 3rd pacer, if Amir doesn't sort himself out he could be the 4th pacer and sat on the sidelines.

Agree with you.

Amir's performance in the CT final was out of this world but that should not guarantee him an automatic selection.

Amir needs to show up and take wickets consistently. A nice fiery spell without any wickets won't do.

Agree, I don't think Amir should have guaranteed spot in the XI when we face NZ, he can play as replacement till someone does bad.

I think the performances of Hasan, Shinwari, Rumman and to a certain degree Junaid Khan could be the wake-up call that Amir needed.

Faheem showed potential today to become a fast bowling all rounder batting at 7 and bowling a decent 7-8 overs every match. Has still got work to do though.

I'm seeing Amir/Junaid falling under the axe. But among these two, Raees appeared more of a T20ish bowler who can be useful when opponent is looking for runs, on the other hand Usman is a strike bowler and can be useful even in tests. So it should be Raees. But both Amir and Junaid are living on past hypes (tht one CT 3-fer was accidential) so I would really want them to be under much pressure to perform or walk away
