The match is starting in about 30 minutes and it will be our first look into our U-19s. Alot of talent, but need to see where they actually stand in world cricket.

The only newz is that Pakistan u19s won the Toss and elected to field.

pak has very strong bowling with first class experience. zia ul haq will defo be the standout but am looking forward to ehsan adil and usman qadir because i love watching wrist spinners.

Ehsan Adil is a spinner???????

Zia Ul Haq strikes in his first over

15/1 after 4.1 overs.

Zia is expensive, Ehsan economical

guyz muhammad nawaz was not in sqaud but in reserves and hez been promoted to starting 11 today. must have impressed.

From 52/1 after 11+ overs til 68/4 after 16 overs. Typical Pakistani enforced mini-collapse

What bs? there is a 21 year old playing. Umar Waheed

You are referring to cricinfo? I think that's wrong. Besides Umar Waheed is from Rawalpindi, have been coached by Sabih Azhar, so he would know if he was 21.

guys, from where you guys are watching this, any live stream here.

no live stream but cricinfo commentary and cric southafrica twitter updates.

131/7...the tail problem again

138/7 after 40+ overs. Come on boys, let's clean the tail up

SA U19 Inv 176/8 (46.3 ov)

Adnan Mehmood gots another one

From 96/6 to 178/8..not good depth bowling it seems, or maybe very good batting

Muhammad Irfan injured? bowled only 4 balls and Babar bowled 2 balls of that over.

Mohammad Nawaz and Adnan Mehmood bowled really well.

Nawaz conceding only 16 runs of his 10 overs. Job well done.

Now it's up to the batsmen to win it.

By the looks of the scorecard I guess Adnan Mehmood is a fast bowler and Mohammad Nawaz a batting all-rounder (spinner)... that being too hard to precise for CricInfo.

Sami Aslam is an attacking left hander at the top who idolises Suresh Raina

Likes to cut and pull

favours the mid wicket area

he will be opening up with Babar Azam

Should get this total easily

first match for the U19s since 2010

will be nice to get the tour off to a winning start

Out for a duck... short ball ? :p

11/2 after almost 6 overs. Tough going

PP curse

Aslam gone for duck

17/3 after 7.4 overs. Not looking good.

Is it true that Pakistan has not taken their best U-19 pacer on this tour? If yes who is that guy and why Pakistan did not pick him?

26/4 after 11.1 overs. Welcome to international cricket boys. Only Babar Azam is occupying one end.

Pakistan Under-19s 26/4 (11.1 ov)

Babar Azam 5 off 29.

Umar Waheed run out again. Seems like he has serious issues with his running. Had some in domestic as well.

Had Pakistan batted first they would have been blown away for nothing.

Usman Qadir having fun with the bat: 30 from 26 balls

92/7, 24.1 overs. Usman gone.

Obviously not...

117/8. Pakistan fighting, good sign.

Another good thing is that we have a long batting line-up.

Pakistan Under-19s 125 (32.4 ov) All out.

Lost by 71 runs

poor stuff

need to bounce back hard on the 12th against Zimbabwe

Its going to be a tough tour for the Pak Under 19s in unfamiliar conditions but even if they lose all their matches, the tour will have been worthwhile for the development of these boys.

Exactly..... and even if players like Usman Qadir and Babar Azam (who have been on national radar for a while)....get some experience of playing in those tough/alien conditions...it will certainly be worth while. We need more tours like these scheduled.

I don't know who you're talking about.

IIRC, Fawad Khan topped the bowling charts in the regional/departmental U-19 tournament (in both three day and one day formats). Now I don't know if he's a fast bowler or a spinner!
He has been selected for this tour - didn't play this match though.

The following thread might help you: http://www.pakpassion.net/ppforum/showthread.php?t=143212

Good tour to harden up youngsters, I think PCB should organize more such tours.

thanks pcf. Looking at that thread, and ranking bowlers based on bowling average:

these are the top 10 bowlers in one day tournament:
1. Zafar Gohar (ZTBL)
2. Mohammad Haseeb (Wapda)
3. Shabbir Ali (State Bank)
4. Junaid Khan (Peshawar)
5. Fawad Khan (State Bank)
6. Amit Ravi (PIA)
7. Ali Usman (State Bank)
8. Naveed Saeed (Rawalpindi)
9. Kamran Ghulam (Abbottabad)
10. Salman Ali Agha (NBP)

these are the top 10 bowlers in three day tournament:
1. Irfan ullah Shah (Abbottabad)
2. Faraz Ahmed (Karachi Blue)
3. Abid Hussain (Rawalpindi)
4. Mir Hamza (Karachi Blue)
5. Imran Javed (Peshawar)
6. Adeel Irshad Abbasi (Islamabad)
7. Zafar Gohar (ZTBL)
8. M. Farman (Faisalabad)
9. Fawad Khan (State Bank)
10. Ehsan Adil (Faisalabad)

Merging the above 2 lists, we can rank
1. Zafar Gohar (ZTBL) [No. 1 in one day; No. 7 in three day]
2. Fawad Khan (State Bank) [No. 5 in one day; No. 9 in three day]

I dont know if Zafar Gohar (ZTBL) is a fast bolwer or a spinner but he is the best U-19 bowler of Pakistan and he is not selected for this tour. So why Pakistan did not pick their best bowler for this tour?

^ They rank bowlers based on the no. of wickets taken, not by averages. Just as batsmen are ranked according to the number of runs scored rather than the average.
