How come nobody on PP is recommending this guy? Seems to have decent control.

He looks better then Fakhar, actually.

doesn't look extraordinary, he's young, hasn't played many games, but decent stats in the first class avg of 41 after 7 games.

Looks like a tuk-tuk opener, he has 2 played maidens so far in the powerplay

At the moment looks like an inferior version of Shehzad. Can hit classy strokes but is finding the fielders with all of the them.

Why are we discussing his first class average when he is playing a domestic odi tournament.
To answer op's quiestion: he has played 4 list A games and not much there, he averages 11.5. Perhaps better than his figures suggest. we will know more from this tournament,

Exactly Pete. He looks way better then 11.5 average.

Looks decent but needs to look for singles and also need to use his feet as well.

Yes and needs to learn to play in the gaps but he is not bad. Not the finished article by any means but can be worked with.

I am alright with giving young guys more time. I am not watching this game, but I can see that he has brough his strike rate to a respectable level after starting slowly....so that's a good sign.

Unfortunately got out to a soft dismissal after smashing a six. Didn't see him bat against pace.

A decent debut in the tournament considering he came in with an average of 11.5

Hopefully he gets a big score today. Need to change the conversation from the same tired faces

Better than Imran butt and imam ul Haq on strike rate so far

As I said when I first looked at him, this kid has potential and can be and should be developed.

He is showcasing his skills for all to see when Akmals and Butts are failing

Needs to rotate strike more. But other then that looks a very decent player. Can hit big and play along the carpet too. Plus he actually looks 21 too.

He's been good in all three games so far. But it's fair to say throws it away after getting to 50. Needs to start converting. But yes good to have someone not hyped to death

what are domestic tournaments coming up after this ?

If there aren't soon, this kid will probably be forgotten or at best not be opening so that the older folk can get a run.

Should be called up to the NCA so coaches can work with him. Batted with a good SR in this tournament.

hope they don't tell him to curb his natural instincts. Sharjeel was famously told off by Zaheer Abbas for not being proper batsmen few years back. Most coaches/explayers still have a backward mentality

the worst that can happen to this kid, is for him to go to team where Basit Ali is around, he's the aquib javed of batting coaching

from the schedule provided, next up is the national t20 cup (Aug). That's city based, so hopefully he has impressed enough folks here to get a call.
Thereafter its the Quaid e Azam trophy in Nov: he plays for ZTBL.

some hope then, in recent times Haris, Babar and Sharjeel have come through there ranks

He needs to score a Big Daddy hundred in the Final with a SR above 125. Incase of any injury to Shehzad, Azhar, Fakhar, Hafeez or Malik he should be drafted in the squad for CT.

Hafeez is injury prone.

Yes Hafeez's injuries usually show after a prolonged slump against top sides.

Indeed. Needs to kick on and steal the show.
TalentSpotterPk How come you never mentioned him before the Pakistan Cuo or maybe I did not notice?

I would guess because his list A average was about 11 and he had played only 4 matches there and he has played 7 first class games with a highest score of 97. The average of 41 in first class is ok'ish
That's probably why below the radar

Have you seen him bat?

I haven't, but when I have followed his progress in this tournament. Most of the posters say, that seems to very good vs. pace. Has some strike rotation but is making it up by hitting boundaries. I am of course disappointed that he is not going beyond 50.

I did mention him during QEA and I did write that he played some steady knocks on tough wickets where most of his teamates failed but He did not kick on hence he scored 3 or 4 fifties but no hundred. Still he throws it away after scoring a fifty.

This analysis was only based on spreadsheets and critically analysing the opposition pace batteries.

I have only watched him bat in PC and he has looked better than all other batsman. I see technique, posture, timing and shot range in a batsman and he ticks most boxes whereas I don’t see these qualities in a 50 averaging List A batsman.

Now the thing is that How did he make PC ? Credit for this goes to Wajahatullah Wasti. Since he has been in Selection Committees he has picked KPK players who have performed well for domestic tournaments aswell as Pakistan A. Examples are Israrullah, Iftikhar, Adil Amin, Rizwan, Zohaib Khan & Sahibzada Farhan. This indeed is the job of Selectors to give chances to players from there regions/provinces.

Sahibzada needs to learn use of wrists and soft hands from Yousuf so that he curbs his dot balls and improves rotation of strike. No better person to teach him this than Yousuf and Yousuf will also teach him how to convert fifties into hundreds. Yousuf had this problem and Miandad & Woolmer helped him in this and his conversion rates improved.

Very good find , amazing of backfoot and good on front foot. Good against pace , bounce and spin. The one to look out for.

You should then watch him bat, He is a sort of batting prospect worth watching.

Credit goes to management, To select him and play him ahead of Imam Ul Haq. I hope he plays for Pakistan soon and gets a chance to work with professionals.

His shot range is amazing.

Perhaps in the coming matches, but its good to discover players who haven't been hyped to the moon already.

As you mentioned, His stats may not be very Lightening on the spreadsheet that's why he wasn't hyped.

Any videos available of him?

There was a clip on youtube or Dailymotion but I'm not sure if it's there anymore as I can't seem to find it.

Today he first smashed Ehsan Adil on the offside and then he pulled him for four after that. Game against spin is also good.

He struggled quite a bit against Hafeez and Imad today at the start.

Four fifties in a row at a decent strike rate- great consistency. For those watching, how aggressive an opener is he?

:danish
Game against spin is also good?!

Spinners took his wicket in all four games. He is clearly not comfortable against spin

Don't try to hype him as international quality when he is playing his first successful List A tournament.

Still early days for him.

Yes, It's good.

He did score runs against Hafeez today and can easily smash spinners. Obvious lapse in concentration, needs to work on shot selection a bit and temperament to score very big.

Looking good apart from his issue with strike rotation.

Wonder why we didn't hear about him prior to the Pakistan Cup, though.

Indeed. Than Azhar or Hafeez gets one of those fake injuries and than this guy or Amin is drafted in for CT :)

If an injury is faked, the first player I'd bring in would be Aamer Yamin tbh, even if that means having a batsman less. 4/6 of our batsmen select themselves anyway. I'd only play 5 batsmen including Sarfraz if we can somehow get Yamin in.

I wouldn't be suprised if an injury is faked.

Yamin is more of a batsmen anyway. Can't believe he wasn't selected in English conditions

this guy is good... he is brave, reads game and he had junaid/zulfi baba hiding faces ... shld play next PSL for a team hopefully....

Sahibzada today has an oppurtunity of lifetime infront of him.

His biggest supporter has been National Selection Committee member who is from his region ie Wajahatullah Wasti.

Golden oppurtunity to score his first ton today and impress the Selection Committee.

Final match means pressure game. If you score in a pressure match which is televised than you have a great chance for national call within 6-12 months.

Thanks God I saw a dynamic, vibrant, classical batsman finally after Ahsan Ali.

Thank you Wajahatullah Wasti.

Thank you Wajahatullah Wasti.

Ahsan Ali is a better batsman than Sahibzada.Ahsan has better power-hitting capabilities than Sahibzada and is not weak on front foot.

Well I agree but Sahibzada's tenperament and Consistency is ahead of Ahsan.

Ahsan definitely is more skilled.

But I am now fan of both of them. One is 21 and other is 23. With Sharjeel & Shahzaib both gone both these fellows have great chance. Unfortunately Ahsan not picked for PC.

Ahsan would've made things really interesting.

As I type, Beautiful shot from Farhan, Pure class.

I definitely rate your Eye. I will keep an eye on your posts. Hope you post more often.

This thread will InshaAllah go long way provided :

1. Sahibzada remains grounded.

2. With right attitude and hardwork he improves his game further.

I just hope he trains with Yousuf for 3 weeks only.
