Now that Saim has been dropped from even a Pakistani Test batting lineup , the comparison with Jaiswal no longer makes sense.

This however feels like a fairer comparison.


Saim is a good looking/marketable dude who is a generational talent/poster boy for Pakistani batting and is born to be a star in Pakistan .

He is bound to land the best endorsements available to a Pakistani cricketer and receive wide adulation and admiration just as Babar did before him .

He's also an exceptionally gifted athlete who can play stunning shots without even looking at the ball fully which shows what a natural talent he is


Tilak is your hard working average Joe who is never going to be the "Guy" in Indian cricket. He'll always be behind the Gill's and Abhishek's in terms of star power and endorsements and will be an afterthought l, unfortunately, for most casual Indian fans.

Unlike Saim, he actually has to watch the ball until the last second to score a few runs because he's not half the natural athlete that Saim is, either. Also comes from a humble background wherein his father was an electrician and mother, a homemaker.


So, who in your opinion would have the greater cricket career. Pakistan's generational star after Bobby the Star or will it be India's everyday working man average Joe , Tilak Varma ?

Saim is the best of a bad bunch (like Umar Akmal and Babar before him). Pakistan won't produce superstars anymore. The system is too weak.

Also one thing, with India's economic growth which has led to westernization - the younger gen is so full of swagger and style.

Pakistani players look and behave like normal middle class desi dudes and get arranged marriages.

Indians apart from their natural talent have got tattoo sleeves, model/actress girlfriends, piercings - closer to international athletes in basketball/football etc.

OP is a smart poster, so I think he is just sarcastic because Tilak currently has the sharpest facial features amongst all Asian players plus he has that aura that comes from skill and confidence. I honestly don't know how Saim looks, I watched all 3 matches and never really noticed him, meaning he either has an average forgettable face or no starpower for the camera to be focused on him, or both, plus I am too lazy to Google lol, so can't comment.

Tilak has enormous mental fortitude playing 2 knocks under pressure. He was just too good in Asia cup final.

On the other hand, Saim did bowl decent lines with good control. Poor lad lacks confidence but was still being played. Feels harsh to be critical about him when he is already backed to the corner.

I think we have to stop comparing Indian playes with pakistan players. As i have told in many threads under-19 world cup is a fair indicator. Pakistan u19 batsmen have been downright ordinary for the last few editions of world cup. Dare i say under-12 players from India look way more technically sound than them. Tilak in his debut county season made 350 in 4 matches for Hampshire. Any comparison will look comical in the end.

Bawa will be the big name from the 2022 cup.

Bawa/NKR - Indian's twin pace all rounders who along with Sundar will provide insane balance to India.

Saim gets the credit of developing a good technique at a very young age but that doesn't equal talent.

He has good footwork, Good technique when it comes to holding bat structure sure but so does Abdullah Shafique and Abdullah is another useless batsmen.

Fakhar Zaman has a baseball esc stance and in his prime he's better then both these 2 notonkies. Infact he's better then them even now at the age of 35 where he's clearly washed up atm.

Talent is more so related to eye hand coordination. The reason why Viv Richards and Sachin are considered the apex of Talent is cause it's extremely rare of a 6'4 giant and a 16 year okd teenager to handle and adjust to 140-150KPH bowling as well as spin on rank turner's.

Technique can only get you so far.

Secondly you need to have game awareness as well. Theirs a certain method to read certain deliveries related to seam and swing which saim clearly is clueless on especially offspin.

Tilak Varma isn't just some talentless individual who's hard working and made it past saim, he's genuinely talented and has good awareness something saim has no clue on.

Ong Pakistani fans and Indian fans both are showcasing that they have no clue on how to read the game and are creating threads to troll and spite rather then discuss and debate
