Hope people don’t throw abuse his way because of what his dad did. Sins of his father should not carry unto him.

All the best to him.

Exactly. The kid is innocent. And hopefully his father’s mistakes will not be a hindrance for him to progress as a cricketer if he truly is deserving

Saw a video of him. He bats just like Salman. Looks a good player.

Kids should not suffer from the mistakes of their parents.

I hope the kid does well and has a successful career.

And like others have said above, I hope he isn’t treated harshly because of what his father did.

Unfortunately, there is a HUGE chunk of idiots and total JahiIs in our population.
There is no getting away with it.

He needs to develop a thick skin and keep his head down, and work on his prep and performance.

All the best to him.

This is an odd one.

Usually sons of prominent cricketers are under pressure to live up to the reputation of their fathers.

In Aaliyan's case the pressure will be an odd one. He will constantly be asked about his father's past and how it effects him, and less will be said about living up to his father's cricketing abilities.

If he can still make it through the top after all this, then he would be made of sterner stuff.

Happy to see this, I'm a bit surprised that his son is already playing U16s! I wish hom the best and hope he does well.

I remember the first time I saw Salman Butt bat, I think it was in 2004 , and I was in awe of his cover drives hope Aaliyan can show us more of that in future.

good luck to the kid... his dad has done him zero favors and dug some big pressure holes thanks to his stained fixing past... hopefully this apple falls faaaaar from the tree.

While we may say that he should not suffer from his father's mistakes, but did his father ever came out and apologized publicly for what he did? Nope he did not, he still acts as if he was wronged.....

His kid might suffer, but if Butt wants that suffering to be minimum than he should apologize to the nation atleast. If not, than good luck to his kid. If he makes it to professional level, journalist will question him about his father.

Did those Jahils and so called Idiots sold this nation? Those so called jahils and Idiots can taunt and remind the kid what his father did. Did his father seek the forgiveness of the nation? Nope he did not.

The awaam isnt jahil in this sense. They were hurt when Butt was caught doing fixing with Amir and Asif.

This is why its time Butt comes out and make a public apology where he shows abit of sincerity for the sake of his sons career..

Salman (and Amir and Asif) should continue apologizing to the nation till their last breaths.

However, Aaliyan has nothing to be apologetic for, and Salman should not apologize just so we accept Aaliyan.

Even in our religion, EACH of us OWNs our own sins. Same applies in our conduct in daily life.

You are right, Aaliyan has nothing to apologize for. But Salman Butt needs to apologize atleast to get his son accepted. Or else people will keep on questioning his dads deeds and you cant blame the people. They hate Salman Butt. The trio never showed remorse, obviously there family wont be spared.

Im not saying their family is guilty and people should go after them, just giving you a perception that what people have and Butt needs to change that perception somewhat by apologizing to the nation

Corruption is a form of betraying the nation. You are talking as if all the people in Pakistan are clean and the only ones corrupted are those three. They don't even need to apologize anymore because they have rightly served their punishments and don't owe anything more to the public.

Well who is guilty and who is clean? Can you judge? Salman Butt was caught in the act. He was guilty, he lied and only admitted guilt to return. He never apologized for what he did.

Yes they do owe to the public. They did the punishment just for their self not for the public.

I used to wake up 5 in the morning just watch the 2010 series. I used to follow the team and support the team. There were many posters on this site that used to follow the team. After Butt was caught along with amir and Asif, people felt stupid they wasted their resources on these people who played with reputation of Pakistan.

So yes Butt owes Pakistan an apology which he never gave. Even Saleem Malik never gave an apology.

Atleast Hansie publicly apologized. Our cricketers pretend as if they were wronged by being caught. Amir till this day refer to his ban as when he was awya from cricket. He talks about that "away period" as having an effect on his fitness and thinks it was the fault of PCB.

So yes they do owe an apology to the country, or else them and their families will be targeted by the people. I and you might say thats wrong, but public wont care and they have their reasons

I disagree. It is good measure for anyone guilty to apologise. Especially when you bring an organization into disrepute.

We're not taking about a run of the mill cricketer. Salman Butt was the captain of Pakistan. And he was involved in something incredible petty as bowling no-balls for a few quid. It is pathetic.

For those saying Salman Butt did not apologise:

"I admit the decision of the ICC tribunal," Butt said in a brief statement to the media in Lahore. "I said it before and am saying again, that to all those who have been disappointed by my actions I do apologise for them. Also, the [negative] effect it had on cricket's integrity, I would like to apologise for that.

"I want to insist, to all those playing and wanting to play cricket, they must stay away from such wrongdoings because it negatively effects them and the game of cricket."

you seem to have soft corner for Salman @ Saj

Not at all. Not bothered either way.

Just stating that he did apologise, when some people are saying he didn't.

It was not a sincere apology to the nation. It was an apology where they just decided to give to abide by the ICC tribunal so that they can return back to cricket. Because that was the condition set.

He never showed any remorse, he and along with the other two should had come on TV to apologize now after their career has ended.

Look at Hansie Cronje apology and look at theirs, there is difference where one shows remorse and others just tick marking things to return to cricket

It wasn't sincere. More angry that he got caught. It was bad enough that Amir and Asif did this but the captain decided to betray PK and bring humiliation to a country he was chosen to lead.

I wish the kid all the best for the future.

Just because his father got banned, shouldn't mean this lad gets criticism for what his father did.
