This could potentially be Sarfaraz final PSL. Franchise Cricket is a ruthless business.
 
Sarfraz Ahmed is having a horrible PSL so far. His scores in this PSL are: 0*, 11, 1, 3, 7

I think Quetta should drop him now. Play Bismillah Khan instead.
 
Sarfaraz Ahmed has been officially dropped for the first time in 9 seasons by Quetta Gladiators.

Today he has been dropped for the match against Peshawar Zalmi.

Last year he also missed couple of matches but was because of injury.
 
Tough day for his supporters. First he is replaced as a captain and now he is finally dropped from the team. It is about three years too late, but better late than never. Quetta win actually win this tournament now.

When it comes to the poll, I agree sarfraz should have been replaced but I don't get why rousso was chosen, cause its psl, I'd prefer a pakistani captain to lead. Quetta is the only team to not be led by a pakistani player this psl.
 
Quetta had to drop Sarfaraz someday and yesterday was that day. This guy was going nowhere with his batting and needed to be let go. Hope they keep the same for he next games as well.

Do you hate Karachi Kings? What did they ever do to you, for you to inflict Sarfraz on them and not just as a player but as a captain?!
 
Rilee has misfired big time for quetta as he left Multan. He was a beast of a player for them and played a key role in their champion run. Quetta will be feeling unlucky that he is not performing.
 
In an interview Rossouw talked about Saud's T20 transformation, Amir's comeback, and Babar Azam, he said:


"My opinion is whatever a player wants to do, they will go and do it. So if he wants to go back and play international cricket, I am pretty sure he can make it to Pakistan side again. He is a fantastic world class cricket player but yeah like I said, I am not too sure what his thoughts are and the way he wants to be. I just know he is performing in whatever circuit he is playing in and it is a good news for Quetta Gladiators,"

Quetta Gladiators’ skipper Rilee Rossouw opened up after losing to Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine first eliminator at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi, on Friday.

“Hopefully we can be better next time. It was an honour and privilege to lead this great side, lot of youngsters came in showed what they're capable off, definitely it's a step in the right direction and we need to build up,”

“They [spinners] were phenomenal throughout the whole season, entire bowling put up their hands big time, leading the chart was Mohammad Amir, on the surface that don't really suit the fast bowlers, he did a phenomenal job, spin kings were fantastic,”

“Thank you very much for your support [to the fans], unfortunately this is where it ends...first time in four years we have qualified for the playoffs, step in the right direction, we have come a long way, don't hang the boys on the rope...hopefully next year things could be a a lot different.”
 
So Multan getting rid of rossouw was justified. All the talk about Multan playing finals because of him and tim David etc. A big slap for those posters.
 
On the whole a rubbish tournament for Quetta. They actually had a strong squad this time and faded after a bright start.

I don’t think Sarfraz should have been replaced as captain. He should have had a shot with finally getting a good squad.

Roussow was an absolute disaster. I never felt Sarfraz ever underformed with his squad, either his squad was bad or he did alright with it. Roussow took a strong squad and failed with it, and on top providing nothing with the bat.
 
Lol pathetic decision. They had a much better team this time around comparing past 3 seasons . Should have sticked with Sarfraz this season .
 
Rilee has failed but it does not mean that sarfraz did well in the last seasons as well. He had been a failure as well. Since year 2020 they were finishing at 5 and 6 spot and this time they qualified for the play off so saying this that Sarfaraz would have done well this time is a hoax.
 
Before the tournament I had a huge amount of respect for both Rossow and Watson however that has all been lost seeing the way they treated Saifi

Nadeem Omar must rectify his mistake and either bring Saifi back or Salman Iqbal needs to realise that Sarfraz is the best man to lead Karachi

Sarfaraz might make a push to move to the karachi team. Sometimes a change in Franchise can do you good. Amir, Imad, Babar have done well to move on from Karachi Kings
 
Sarfaraz should call time on his career himself now. He is not playing that level of cricket anymore that he used to. His memorable performance for me is his resilient innings and partnership with Mohammad Amir against Sri Lanka in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

Sarfraz is 1000 times superior captain than anyone in that Quetta side . It’s not like his replacement was any good . So either you announce before hand he isn’t leading or let him captain . They announced it before 4 days of Competition lol . The change was just sake of it with no real thought .

And sarfraz is 1000 times worse than any quetta player. You can't have a specialist captain.

“Today I want to tell you that my time with Quetta Gladiators has come to an end and I feel very proud that my journey of 9 years with this amazing team has been wonderful and beautiful."

“I want to take this opportunity to thank Nadeem Bhai for giving me the opportunity to play for his team and for providing everything that I needed as a player and captain and I will always remember your support throughout this time."

“My best wishes will always be with your team and lastly I would like to thank your team management who have been great. Special thanks to Azam Bhai.”

Sarfaraz should play for Karachi Kings, Heck even lead them or be actively involved with them. Karachi needs a local super star player to get their franchise going. No better farewell for Sarfaraz with one two final PSL seasons with his home city.

My gut is saying he may go unselected today in the PSL 2025 draft or maybe get picked in the Silver category.

Because we all saw what the Dolphins did under his mentorship in the Champions One Day Cup 2024 and the Champions T20 Cup 2024.

I think he will be mentor for QG maybe. WOuld be funny how he left QG yesterday and joins them back tomr .
 
Lol Sarfaraz got sidelined because of Shane Watson and now he is not coming himself. Full Kai Kai Quetta
