What's new

Sarfaraz Ahmed's captaincy was criminally underrated in a team with a severe dearth of leaders

Lol we are back to brainless captain sarfarz now. Jeeez need more options in the team

Sarfraz's only mistake was he followed Mickey blindly off the field otherwise he would have won those two series in the UAE with two genuine spinners.

Sarfraz was decent on the field, but off the field very timid and too nice towards his seniors/coaches. That's also what people criticized him for except for his batting which was another issue.

I am 100% sure he would have defended this 270 total. Far more proactive than Azhar

When you rebuild a side you have to accept defeats. Sarfraz had shown his leadership qualities at under 19, ODI and T20. Test cricket is the most difficult format of the game as it takes time to build a team around a new captain.

What will PCB do if Pakistan lose the series to England, will they change the captain again? I like Azhar Ali but do not think he is a natural captain. His batting is and will continue to suffer and arm chair critics will now be barking for him to be dropped from the side altogether, which would be equally stupid.

Teams rebuild but they should not be losing those 2 series.

Sarfraz didn't really do much wrong as a test captain
His batting got a bit too many bugs that meant he lost the talent to hit cleanly and only really ran well between the wickets

If he comes and leads the team under waqar younis and Mushtaq ahmed it will be mini coup but with pakistani cricket you can never be too sure

Not from winning positions bro.

I personally do not consider Frazzy to be a world class cricketer but he was a very good field captain.

Actually Pakistan lost 2 tests from absolute winning position.

In 2017 Abu Dhabi test, Pakistan lost to Sri lanka by 21 runs while chasing only 136 runs.

In 2018 again in Abu Dhabi test, Pakistan lost to New Zealand by 4 runs while chasing 176 and funny thing is at one point Pakistan were 146/4.

In my opinion, for an established asian team like India,Pak and Sri Lanka, losing a test series against New Zealand in asia is way more embarrassing than losing to England in England.

Can you please tell me.
When was the last time India lost a home series against New Zealand?
