Saudi Arabia to pay for 560 mosques in Bangladesh

Saudi Arabia has agreed to donate $118 million to set up 560 model mosques across Bangladesh, a media report said on Thursday.

The decision follows Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's last year vist to Saudi Arabia where she met King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the Dhaka Tribune reported.

The mosques will be able to accommodate at least 450,000 men and over 30,000 women for daily prayers and will have lodging space for more than 2,000 foreign guests and libraries.

The Saudi government has also agreed to donate money to establish a permanent campus for the Islami Arabic University in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh should reject the offer. The further you remain from these Saudis the better. I'm sure there is no shortage of mosques in BD. If Saudi really​ wanted to help they would have built schools or hospitals.

Lets hope Bangladesh rejects this offer. Otherwise the rise of Wahabism, religious fanaticism and Islamic terrorism will stop all the development Bangladesh has gone through. Saudi Arabia builds these mosques in every country but instead of teaching Muslims to be peaceful and simple - it does the opposite. Breeding ground for terrorists.

I remember Saudi Arabia offering to build a mosque for Syrian refugees in Germany. Saudi Arabia had done nothing in support of the poor refugees despite being so close to them and even when they did decide to hold their hand up, it was for a terrorist factory. Good thing Germany rejected their offer.

This is a done deal not an offer which will be rejected. The deal was done when Sheikh Hasina visited Saudi Arabia.

How big are these Mosques? BD is congested as it is, let alone adding 560 more Mosques

...and in these Mosques the teachings will be how great the Saudi's and Arab's are. They will be brainwashed in to Arabism at the expense of their own indigenous culture. This is what happened in Pakistan after the 1970's.
