The infamous and notorious Lord's Test of 2010 :amir:butt:asif

It is the dawn of a new era to say the least.

Question is what should we expect from the new look team moving forward? Can we retain the same dominance in the UAE as we had previously or will inexperience become our undoing?

If so, can this test team go one step further and become dominant away from Asia as well?

Also - can Usman/Haris/Babar became mainstays of the the Test team and provide a healthy 50+ average over an extended period of time? Or will chopping and changing become the order of the day once again?

The biggest question has to be the leadership void left by Misbah. Can Sarfraz motivate and tactically inspire our Test team to new heights now.

These are big questions that can only be answered over an extended period of time!

That our cricket is finally moving ahead and we got rid of folks who were just hanging onto their spot because of reputation.

Fair enough although I suspect we would not have gotten "rid" of them had they chose not to retire.

Hopefully we won't flounder like Sri Lanka after they lost their two senior pros.

too harsh, they were great test cricketers, but yeah overlonged their stay with selfish attitudes, still shouldnt tarnish their test legacies, in ODIs your statement fits the bill

Luv u younus :yk
luv u misbah :salute

Haters gonna hate becoz it simply is their job... they don't know anything except criticism.

Younis could have played 2 more years. He wouldn't have performed worse than Sachin's last 2 years i promise. Why Younis is selfish? He retired at right time.

He retired because they refused to give him the captaincy

there is nothing more selfish than to retire at your peak and see your team struggle without you just because you want to protect your stats and legacy

sangakkara is a great example.

also younis retired because he wasn't given captaincy. his ego is too fragile for him to play under a young captain.

That's really a sad thing about Younis Khan.

Give Misbah a break. He was the main reason Pakistan won Lord's test. He batted well in WI too.

Younis was a Pakistani legend. You could not discard him after 2 bad series. At least he did not stay as long as Tendulkar and Ponting.

They are legends and will forever be remembered as two greats of Pakistan cricket.

But now we must move on.

Hopefully never again will a player over the age of 37 will play for Pakistan.

Yes good that the selectors have gone with young replacements in Haris Usman Sami and Babar. Good that they didn't go back to fawad alam, Faisal Iqbal, khurram Mansoor or some of the other old names. Yes fawad deserved a chance but not now, should have had played or be in the squad when Misbah was in but he couldn't find a place in the middle order because of the solid four Azhar MIS|YOU Shafiq. They should give a long run to Haris usman Sami and babar. The reserves should be imam ul haq, Umar Amin, shehzad, fakhar, saud shakeel etc.

It will be a weird feeling not seeing them on the pitch. But it was time to move on. Younis was on the way down and Misbah whilst he was a serviceable captain and good batsmen struggled outside of his comfort zone in tests. We couldn't just keep begging them to hold on just because of there experience. Pakistan needed to move on. I am excited to see what direction our test team will take under Sarfraz.

We should be okay against Lanka but will struggle against better opponents in the coming months.

But that's life. Nothing is there forever. It's on guys like Sarfraz, Azhar to take responsibility.

To remain a test captain for longer period sarfraz need to keep himself cool and calm and don't let other players to go on the other side as we all saw him taunting too much.

in last many years with the big name in the team we could not win a test series against SA, AUS, or ENG. so we can trust the young players and hope they will perform better then olds, and could win a series out of asia

Honestly so excited to watch pakistan without Misbah. Just need to get rid of no hope shan.
