Would be nice if PCB gets these games to be broadcasted on tv or even YouTube

Why shadab is in the emerging squad?

How does a parchi like Azaan Awais make it in the T20 side?

Same old nonsense by Pakistan promoting the wrong types of players in the wrong formats!

Azan awais has been decent in FC averages around 70 but I'm not sure what's he doing in t20

Good from pcb to send a shaheens team to uae for warm up games.

So 3 different teams will be playing. Thats nices. Giving oppurtunities to alot of guys

So india not getting a warm up game? Serves them right

What's the point of playing warmups between players who aren't even featuring in CT?. I don't get it?

these players will get to face international quality sides, so any performance by them is development and we can also judge how good they are.

So for example, we dont really know how good sufiyan muqeen is, but if he plays and takes wickets agianst the top side in this match, we get an idea ok he can play against them. Further he will develop aswell.

Mir Hamza and Zafar Gohar got their county contracts due these A games they played against England.

these games are ODI's and are for the benefit of visiting teams but at the same time give exposure to our young (mostly) players against top competetion.

Great opportunity for all the guys. I liked the look of Niaz Khan, Saad Def has something and Azan Awais deserves his chance. Ali Razas action and in particular the jump wide isn't something that bodes well but he also deserves his chance

This is a good way to give fringe players some exposure against international teams.

Huraira/Imam/Maaz/Hasan Nawaz are all openers and they're on the same team? Make it make sense.

Good to see some exposure for some of these younger players but I would have just liked to seen them name a proper B team to face vs Afghan & SA. Since Bangladesh is on the same day as SA game, that could have been a 3rd stringer side and included the much younger and raw players like Azan/Ali Raza/Ghori/Faseeh etc.

We are fine without any warm-up .so now no excuse for others team because all are playing the warm up match . Good 👍

:kp

Calling it now. Shadab is somehow gonna wiggle his way into CT team.
He should really. He is our only experienced spinner. In hindsight we should have dropped him ages ago to give exposure to new spinners.

I wouldn’t play him in the team go with Abrar. But it’d kind of nice to have Shadab there on the bench in case things go wrong. Or if we need a second spinner and don’t want to sacrifice batting strength much.

Exactly

They are insisting on making the same stupid mistakes again and again

It does not hurt to think before you post something. CT is a 50 overs tournament , why would the warm up matches be T20 matches, will be 50 over games. And , as far as I know Owais was one of the top scorer in QEA trophy this season.

This warm-up match against Afghanistan is very crucial - it will expose many things.

Pakistan Shaheens beat Afghanistan by 144 runs in the ICC Champions Trophy warm-up match at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore

Shadab Khan was the most successful bowler (3-29) as Afghanistan were bowled out for 170 in 38.4 overs while chasing the 315-run target.

Shadab as our only experienced spinner and only experienced allrounder should have been in the team really over Khushdil.

I think we just got tired of him not doing justice to his potential. We think by leaving him out of internationals he’ll work hard to improve his game.

So Shaheens defeated Afghanistan's team. This is something Afghans will think about for sure. You cannot be losing against B-teams before the event.

Pretty impressive stuff from Shaheens to win this so convincingly.

Pretty lame to see Arafat not getting a chance to win and Abbas Afridi & somehow even Kashif Ali coming into bat before him. I feel like they are trying to pigeon hole into a bowling allrounder when he's a quality batting talent.

Afghanistan have won the toss and are batting first against New Zealand

Why is new Zealand team needs a practice match after playing the tri series?

Afghanistan have posted 305/9 on the board in the first innings, with major contributions coming from Rahmanullah Gurbaz (110), Sediqullah Atal (52), Hashmatullah Shahidi (40), and Ibrahim Zadran (32).

30 Overs Completed!

Afghanistan have taken 5 wickets for 153 runs inside 30 overs, with Rashid Khan taking two, whereas Azmatullah Omarzai and Noor Ahmad taking one wicket each so far.

Our boys got played off the park in two games against the same team, and here Afghanistan is close to thrashing them.

We should have become the first host to not even bother participating in this trophy.

Same Afghanistan side got thrashed by 100+ runs by Pak A a couple of days ago. These are warm-up matches, don't read too much into them.

Afghanistan put up a good score and put pressure on New Zealand. That's what Pakistan missed in the last game. If they had score 280. New Zealand would've been in trouble chasing it.

For the CT game. If Pakistan bats first on a good surface they just need to ensure they score 300+. Pakistan will be in with a good chance then.

Everyone appreciating Pakistan Shaheens on beating Afghanistan in warmup game but no one noticed the daylight robbery happened in the game.

Arafat Minhas was introduced after 6 bowlers and bowled just 4 overs, ending with figures of 4-10-1. Pakistan played all 50 overs and 8 batters were dismissed and yet Minhas didn’t bat. Kashif Ali came ahead of him who’s a bowler.

No doubt who’s the captain. Shadab Khan’s insecurities about fellow spinners are not new.

That is a huge problem in Pakistan cricket , days of Imran Khan are long gone and forgotten . Now every captain or non performing but influential player tries to destroy the career of an up and coming plater, who could challenge his own place in the team. Looks like Shadab did exactly that .

For the same reason Rizwan picked the most useless keeper/batter in CT squad who will not be playing and will not be a threat to his position for years to come.

Have been saying for quite some time that this guy has best batting talent of the lot and should be groomed and trained to be the answer of all our woes
Qasim akram and arafat should bat at 5 in domestics to nurture their batting talent

Whether Arafat Minhas is good batter or not but how can shadab Khan send bowlers ahead of him. Same thing was done to Hammad Azam by Sohail Tanveer. How can we expect talent to come out if leaches like Shadab Khan are there. Hopefully someone will raise voice for such injustice happening to fringe players.
@Saj @Rana

Afghanistan will miss their 2nd mystery spinner - Mujeeb/Ghazanfar. Kharote is not in the same class and their bowling threat is reduced significantly.
While Pakistan has Abrar Mistry - the mazdoor of pakistani team.

That's why I said why is certain teams are only playing the warm up matches .

:kp
Because, the teams are required to land in Pakistan by a certain time period. If you sitting in Australia and land here at the last moment, a warm up match cannot be arranged

Lol just saw ijaz ahmed jr phone number there.

Someone should drop him a msg :p

Any score card of the Bangladesh warm up match? Just want to see how the pitch is playing up in Dubai.

Well you know BD. They will practice for ODI tournament using T20 and vice versa.

Since BD are expected to lose all 3 games badly, they should try to play with no fear during CT. If it comes off, good. If not, no harm since expectation is low anyway.

Just don't want to see meek tuk-tuk.

:inti

Not good news for BD. If they can't handle Pakistan A, how can they handle main teams during CT?

Concerning signs for BD. :inti
Or it's not good news for Pakistan. Seems they have better spinmers playing on their Shaheen than regular team. Other day shadab took 3 wickets. Now Usama mir. Guessing sufaan will get few too.

Pakistan Shaheens defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the warm up match.

- Muhammad Haris (70)
- Mubasir Khan (56)
- Sahibzada Farhan (27)
- Azan Awais (23)

There's a reason why it's called warm up match lol

Pakistan A teams had the freedom to play fearless cricket. There was no pressure on them. Skills are important but teams have to absorb pressure. Teams which can do thus are successful. Australia are successful because they handle pressure better than other teams.
