I am a bit worried about his approach when he gets smacked. he got hit 3 6s today and same happened in CT17 final. Mushy or someone needs to work with him. Shadab himself needs to approach Mushy or Qadir to learn and work on his bowling. Any bowler can get hit but one needs to learn from past. Discuss!!

He's 18, hugely competitive and by all accounts seems to have a great head on his shoulders. He's gonna be fine we just need to have patience, all young players go through ups and downs.

he is increasingly becoming a specialist fielder

his bowling is losing bite with each passing series

He is stubborn, he keeps throwing it there hoping the next time the batsman will make a mistake rather than changing his tactics.

I am just worried about what happened to his googly. Either he has been found out or has lost confidence on using it properly.

Relax guys, Even Imran tahir and S badree were ineffective on these pitches

Its scary when you tell a youngster to relax no worries, Instead teach and make him hungry for more learning, one should always look for fine tuning even when you bowl the greatest spell of your life or after a team win. That's what makes great players, I hope management take a notice of this and keep him under guidance of mushy or qadir, Keep learning and get better and better.

Oh no he's been found out. He should just quit international cricket because he got hit for 3 sixes.

I am sure Shadab will lose sleep over your assessment of his cricketing ability.

:)))

Nothing in the pitches for leggies.

Tahir is the best ODI/T20 spinner in the world and he was ineffective.

Tahir's performances: 1/34, 1/29, and 0/26

Shadab's performances: 2/33, 0/32, 0/34

Maybe Tahir is increasingly becoming a specialist fielder too. :srt

Ridiculous thread and posts from some. Shadab seems the original real deal. Risk hence wicket taker but needs assistance from pitch just like any other bowler. Love the way he tosses it up again and again.

That's encouraging not worrying. Exactly what you want from your leggie. An attacking mindset and daring to take on the opposition.

Bro you should go watch videos of shane warne

Anyone who critisizes what shadab is doing by bowling at the same place after getting hit are being naive.

Shane warne use to get hit for sixes but he use to take wickets from the same exact spot whrre he got hit for six.

Bowlets get hit for sixes, this isnt something new. Thing is how u tackle that as a bowlr and the best way to tackle it is back your abilities. Bowl at the same place.

This is what warne did

Warne would bowl at the same place but bowl it slower or quicker or bowl a googly/flipper... this meant the batsmen went for the same shot but made a mistake.

Needs to learn the art of making the slogger 'fetch' the delivery. Its the best way to go about it when a hitter really gets under everything a spinner is giving him. Bowl it wider than his arc

Shadab has a better cricketeting mind than most posters on here, I'm sure he'll do fine.

He's only 18 but I have noticed that when he does get hit, he gets hit badly after that. Pandya went after him in CT final and Perera destroyed his figures yesterday with a few consecutive sixes. He carried on bowling short balls which weren't great. I am not worried, however, at the age of 18 to achieved what he already has such as winning the Champions Trophy, getting a BBL & CPL contract as well as being Man of the Series in his first ever series, you must be seriously talented. I am sure he will improve his game over the years

The only thing which might worry his fans is the precedent of young Pakistanis starting their international careers with a bang before regressing to mediocrity.

And people wanted him in tests over Yasir. Ridiculous really!

He looks promising but so far his bowling has been nothing special.

You bowl in areas where the batsmen need to take the most risk and Shadab does that. Really nothing wrong here, just the batsman outplayed the bowler on that delivery.

True, I think the 19 year old Shadab is now done as a leg spinner and should quit cricket or just play as a specialist 12th man.

He's only 18, give him time. The more he plays international cricket the more he will learn.

exactly. But no, bowling at the same place is worrying :))

I really don't think it is. In anything that anyone does, the best way is to learn through your mistakes and you only make mistakes when you experience constant practice in your craft, even the best have off days let alone rookies who have many years to go before reaching their peak form.

Leg spinners can get hit.

But they can be match winners as well as we know. Give the lad time.

Best time to learn when you get hit.... all part of the maturing process for shadab
