KARACHI: Legendary cricketer and former Pakistan cricket coach Javed Miandad fired back at PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan on Thursday for his remarks about legendary players not being good coaches and said that the PCB chief knew nothing about the game and was a liar.

“If you want to inquire about my performance, ask Mushtaq Ahmed, Moin Khan, Inzamam and Wasim Akram,” he said. “I told Mr Shaharyar that your players are involved in match-fixing and he rubbished me,” said Miandad.

Former Pakistan opening batsman Aamir Sohail also lashed out as PCB chief and said his own performance was not up to the mark and he had no business pointing fingers at Miandad. “Shaharyar and company are leading Pakistan cricket towards destruction,” said Aamir.

“If all former cricketers unite and form a body, the PCB will not be able to do any injustice to any retired cricketer,” he said.

Miandad was one of the best coaches Pakistan had Unlike Waqar and Haroon Rasheed who were a complete failure and yet they are somehow coming back to haunt Pakistan cricket more get a life MR Shehriyar khan.

Part of the problem with Pakistan cricket has been that chairmen have been trying to run cricket. Chairmen are supposed to govern the PCB an institution to administer cricket in Pakistan. PCB has departments to overlook different parts of cricket administration; finances, projects, infrastructure, investments, academies, training programs etc. Instead of letting the concerned department do its job PCB chairmen tend to think of themselves as chief selector, team manager and head coach all rolled into one. Success of a chairman is somehow defined by the way the national team performs instead of what he has done to improve the cricket setup and handled finances.
