Well, a year back I thought this was not even a comparison but after watching Shardul Thakur since the Australia tour and the impact he created since by picking up wickets and scoring useful runs down the order, made this comparison worthwhile.

Both are fighters with never say die attitude, have similar pace and bowling trajectories, and both impactful contributors and match winners for their respective teams.

Your thoughts.

I assume you are talking about LOIs. So my question is, are you serious?

Shardul averages 35+ @ 6.5+

Hasan 29 @ 5.60

Hasan has also won PCT an ICC trophy and is their future star.

Shardul will make way for better players in the times to come.

Its not even a competition.

You're right there is no comparison, Hasan all the way!

Let's ignore the stats for the moment and focus 9n the impact and striking similarities between their bowling.

Shardul I must say had few tough series with tough opposition back to back starting from India tour to NZ last year and ending with this recent England series. Did not play against weaker sides.

So difference in stats is understandable.

Well you just nailed it, some of these Indian trundlers are made to look good because of home conditions and home advantage. And before you say it, yes I know the Indian bowling attack is overall better than Pakistan's.

He did take 7 wickets at Gabba alongwith scoring a 60

Shardul will be an allrounder, Indian version of Andy Bichel.
He is not a specialist bowler like Hassan, also he is like our 10th best bowler, comparing him to Ali is just illogical.

Hassan Ali is a proper bowler, cricketer.

This guy Thakur is living the dream right now and survives solely on his slower variation. Plus he’s a gold standard jobber of a fielder!

Both of them have a knack of picking wickets and have good variations. They can score a few as well. Both have been tonked around quite a bit and are generous run donors. Will be fascinating to see who will succeed.

Shardul with his pace, swing and 300+ test wickets in future (woulda/shoulda/coulda Indian logic) is better than Broad already.

Thakur is a dangerous bowler in limited overs. Always gets the main wickets. Useful with the bat also.

Hasan Ali is Pakistan’s best bowler.

This thread is like comparing Jasprit Bumrah to Haris Rauf.

Shardul Thakur in fact reminds me of Bilawal Bhatti. You can say he is the Indian version of him.

Hassan ali is obviously the better bowler and a better fielder and he should be averaging atleast 25 with the bat

Shardul is one of those bowlers, who most of Indian fans never wanted to play in first place and even when he started playing we always thought that he will be Vinay Kumar with 10-15 ODIs international career. Having said that, ever since the Australian series, he has changed the opinions of many including mine. He's not a star but a workman kind of allrounder who currently is doing absolute justice to his place in his side.

Shardul is a better bat, Hasan is better with the ball.

Still not satisfied with shardul's bowling. He's very expensive and goes for a lot of runs. Whenever he's bowling, I get a feeling there's a 30 run over around the corner.

Hasan Ali has done much more in international cricket and was the key factor behind Pakistan's CT win.

Fakhar and Amir get a lot of undue credit for that but if I remember correctly, it was Hasan Ali who got Pakistan into the finals with his reverse swinging spells in the middle overs.

Hasan ali is also no mug with the bat .He has played some explosive knock in international cricket

Shardul is no mug with the ball either. He is decent and completes his 10 overs most of the times. He lacks consistency in line and length, but does pick up wickets.

There was no such "reverse swing"more like seam movement .if you cannot differentiate between 2 watch both Sa recent test series against pak and pak matches in CT

This and the other comparison threads between Ind & Pak lineups, are not really fair considering the might of oppositions they have played recently. SA was clearly weak and got drubbed by Pak at home, whereas Eng had the never say die attitude throughout and India did not really dominate them except maybe the tests.

I was looking fwd to Pak-NZ soo much, but Babar not playing was a big dampener. Anyways understood the value of Riz in that series.

My point is win or lose I want to see Pak pitted against a strong team, and then see them perform. In NZ, Pak team got rolled over (due to obvious reason like Babar injury) and at home, they rolled over SA.

The spell against india was the highlight for me

Shardul Thakur averages 22 in T20s and 23 in Tests.

So, don't go by stats as sample is low right now.
