Hi,

Has this ground been reduced in size of late.

I don't remember such short boundaries in 90's.

It’s a very very flat deck also. You can close your eyes and swing on this track, it will probably clear the fence

Conditions are brutal for bowlers. However, unlike other leagues, IPL complies with ICC guidelines of minimum ~60m boundary size. So while Sharjah may have shorter boundaries than Dubai, they are still as per ICC guidelines.

I got that but was it same size earlier as well in 90's when India v Pakistan used to happen here....

It's so small right now that people are unable to take 2 runs, I have not seen any 3 here...

Bigger bats. Mishits from a midget have gone for sixes today.

DC 228/4 (20) CRR: 11.4

Highest totals for DC:
231/4 vs KXIP Delhi 2011
228/4 vs KKR Sharjah 2020 *
219/4 vs KKR Delhi 2018

Reminds me of Chinnaswamy stadium. Six hitting is definitely not tough here in Sharjah .

I think ICC's limit is less than 60m, if I am not wrong Auckland is much smaller than 60m in some areas of the field and it's allowed by ICC.

Yeah...it got renovated not long ago and I think they've reduced the outfield size

Sharjah was always a small ground even in 90s. But back then such big hitting was not the norm. Renovation never reduces the actual size of the ground.

Its 59.43m to be precise for square boundaries and 64m for straight measured from the center of the pitch. But that's for the shortest boundary. Maximum is 82.29m for both square and straight.

As per my knowledge, these are guidelines and its up to you to comply with them. E.g. Some of the Ozzie grounds go much beyond the maximum limit.

This limit is only for grounds that were built after the rules came into effect.

90 Sixes in 3 matches at Sharjah..CSK's 200 is still the lowest innings score here.

This ground reminds everyone how much the six hitting ability of the batsmen have improved from the 90's. Modern day batsmen are just way more fitter and stronger along with bigger and better bats.
