Shaukat Khanum Sues Hanif Abbasi

The chief executive officer of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust on behalf its members of board of governors has filed a defamation law suit of Rs 10 million against MNA Hanif Abbasi, according to a press release issued here on Thursday.


A spokesman for Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust said Hanif Abbasi in a TV programme a couple of days back had raised serious allegations against the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and had stated that the board members of the Trust took salaries in millions of rupees from this leading philanthropic cancer treatment hospital. The spokesman said Hanif Abbasi alleged that the 19 board members were relatives of Imran Khan, the chairman of the Board of Governors of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust. On the contrary, the fact is that none of the board members takes any money from the Trust on any account and only three board members are relatives of Imran Khan. The hospital has already clarified this through the national dailies whereas Imran Khan himself has also rejected these allegations in an exclusive press conference held earlier, the spokesman said.



He said Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital is publicly known and acknowledged as a charity driven institution which treated thousands of indigent cancer patients every year free-of-cost with the support of people of Pakistan.



He said Hanif Abbasi for his political motives tried to ruin the reputation of this national institution by raising such baseless and false allegations. Therefore, the management of the hospital has filed a defamatory law suit worth Rs 10 million against Hanif Abbasi in the court of district judge, Rawalpindi, the spokesman said. The hearing of the petition is scheduled for May 5, 2012, he added.

Forget about Hanif Ephedrine Abbasi( you expect that from such a loser) there was another Noora on this forum make allegations without any proof. Some Nooras cant take it that PK has an international class hospital based on donations and run on merit.
