On what basis malik was selected for tests ? Can Pakistan selectors not learn anything from Australia or SA by giving chances to the most deserving candidates. If Test selections are based on ODI performances against third class teams then Michael Bevan would have been a regular member of Australian Test side though he used to perform against quality oppsitions. Was alam not more worthy of selection in Tests Averaging 57 in first class rather than Malik who we know will perform in 1 inningsand fail in the rest.

He's playing as an all rounder which Fawad is not. Malik should really be batting at 5-6 but our ingenious management have a secret plan.

I think Malik was selected on the fact that he could bowl as well. This is Pakistan for you though. There is no clear and consistent selection policy. Fawad definitely was a candidate but what can you say, Malik scored a double century in the first game so it is unfair to criticize the selection committee as well.

Well Malik did score a double century... You can't drop him after that for a bit...

The hockey player isn't the answer either.

Make Azhar open and Haris should bat at 3 in the long-term.

Malik is a TTF and has no place in test cricket period. Fawad Alam was 100 times more deserving than him. It made me so mad that this guy was selected for the test team. He scored a double century on the flattest track ever and then when the pitch had something in it for the bowlers, he couldn't even get to double digits in 3 consecutive innings. No wonder he averages in single digits in England and New Zealand. He is a poor test player and has no place in test team.

Malik is playing as an A/R who should ideally be batting at no.6. Fawad should be the first guy in once Misbah/Younis retire or if Asad/Azar get injured.

Where are the Malik chest beaters now, re, MRSN

After making 168 in his first test against vaas , murali and hearath , fawad was dropped after 4 innings ,though he made 80 runs in those 4 innings against newzeland in newzeland where many of the modern greats have failed. So whats the excuse with malik who cannot even play on these flat pitches. We should accept that he is there because of his connections and friendships rather than his performances.

Malik is mostly there due to him being able to bowl as well. I guess if he fails in the next test with the bat though, then he'll be dropped.

Malik actually makes the team for UAE Tests, may be at 6, particularly against ENG; Fawad doesn't/shouldn't make the squad even for Karachi Test. ENG has 6/7 lefties in their line-up & Babar is 40+ now (both - average with ball & age)- Malik's selection actually on merit for this series, Fawad should try a 2nd career in snooker ................

There is no injustice with Fawad Alam, in fact, there's a stronger case of injustice with Malik.

Why have they thrown him in at #3, a position clearly not suited to him? Malik merits a spot on the middle order, they are misusing him. Fawad Alam would be as much of a bunny batting at #3.

Lol at injustice with Malik. :misbah He should be thanking his lucky stars that he made a comeback into the team this year after continuously failing in the last 5 years. I'm sure if Fawad got as many chances as Malik, he would have done so much better.

What I'm saying is that if they picked Malik, they should have played him in a position he's best utilized at instead of turning him into a sacrificial lamb. This is unfair on him, you can't expect him to regularly perform completely out of his comfort zone.

But YK, Misbah and Shafiq have done well in their current positions. It would also be unfair on them to make them change their batting positions just to accommodate Malik who is a nothing player in this format imo. And Malik IIRC used to open in tests so it's not like he has no expierniece of playing up the order.

Everyone barring PCB thick tank knows that Malik is a walking wikt in Test cricket yet they chose him his 3in a row failures mean Azhar will return any answer PML {M) has :malik

6 isn't Shafiq's spot, he could bat at 3, which is where he bats in domestic cricket. Younis Khan has also done well at 3 for a large part of his career. They could have fitted Malik in without making too much of a compromise.

And Malik opening in this format is irrelevant because, once again, it was a poor choice, just like putting him at 3. He isn't a nothing player, and can be very handy in the middle order in the UAE at least. Yes, him going overseas is questionable.

No injustice, he delivered some good performance so you can't drop him out straight forward.

fawad still waiting for his chance ....

people like k.akmal and s.butt will get selected but not fawad alam.
