Should resign now
And it can’t be Rizwan otherwise RizBar issue will be there
Have to find a replacement first, and I'm not seeing a better captain amongst the playing XI at the moment
Only Shadab can be made captain Rizwan being captain would result in the same philosophy.
My personal observation is that teams that win world cups and trophies in cricket are mostly that play as a team. In batting, all players chip in and there is no dependency on some players. Also there is no one bigger than the team. However, in bowling they do have world class bowlers atleast some of them. Others also chip in with fielding also playing a crucial.
Pakistan will win once we focus only on our batting. Rizwan and Babar should not be thinking about middle order, middle order should not think about their place in their team. All batsmen in the team should be capable enough to win the game as a collective unit.Imagine Sri Lankan batting vs our batting to understand the difference. Fielding is also poor which adds fuel to the fire.
Only thing we tick is our bowling which gives us a chance to win cups but batting is so poor that it kinda cancels it out anyways.
Therefore, my assessment is that we need to change captaincy and bring someone who can make a team of 11 players from which expectations should be equal.
Read a report on here that Ramiz and a few higher ups actually met Babar in person. And tried to see if he’d be open to replacing a few squad members. And he declined. So yes, ofc the blame is going to go on Babar because he chose to back a lineup HE signed off on.
But ultimately, it doesn’t matter who is captain. We’ve been in a free fall as a batting line up ever since Yousuf and Inzi retired.
Younis regressed, Misbah was a limited player, Afridi showed ADHD symptoms, Malik couldn’t play pace. Hafeez was the only decently consistent player.
And now we are utterly and totally screwed.
And replace him with who? And who will get better results with such useless bunch of cricketers
Its not like this is a world beating team underperforming The domestic system just isnt producing cricketers who can stand up and deliver under pressure

Would this thread exist if we had beaten India?
Babar is a tactically poor captain. But judging the outcome of his career on the basis of performances in Aus seems very harsh. How many Pakistani captains can say they've been successful down under?
If you brought in Shadab or Rizwan they aren't going to be able to magically fix the middle order or find a reliable big hitter when they don't exist.
Babar needs a kick into shape for sure but he deserves a longer rope too.

They didn’t beat India though. They lost.

No. Shadab is a selfish captain. Same as Babar
Who are Babar's friends in the current team that played against Zimbabwe today?
Imad Wasim is the best T20 captain from a tactical perspective. He understands the game better than Babar and some of the other options.
Unfortunately, he doesn't have a guaranteed spot on the team right now making that an impossible change.
No one else really stands out even if they remove Babar. They're all equals.
Cowardly captain and overrated batsmen. Not even in the top 15 Pakistan batsmen historically
Who would you suggest ?
Shadab would be the next guy.
I have been saying Babar is a bad captain since last world t20. We lost the semi cause of him, but I was critisized![]()
Players like Haris Sohail .
There's a name from the past. Naturally gifted attacking batsman, what ever happened to him?
Played recently in the National T20, got a few fifties. I am certain if we select the right way we can have a very strong team. We need proper batsmen not these laparus like Asif Ali and Khushdil.

100% Imad Wasim
I don’t care if he isn’t in the team or whatever. There are plenty of players who are not in the team but are miles better than this garbage squad!
Why oh why do we keep changing captains? What has this policy of constant change achieved anything?

Things are really bad when even Wasim Akram of all people is now coming out in public against you.
Wasim revealed that in Karachi Kings when they lost 9 matches out of ten, he had politely suggested to Babar to come down to number 3 and to allow Sharjeel and Salt to open instead. Babar refused point blank and as a result Sharjeel who was the more natural opener had to drop down to number 3.
Waqar then butted in saying this is the difference between a captain and a leader and the team respects a captain who is willing to make personal sacrifices for the team and is leading by example.
Knives are coming out for Babar now.
