Should we try to optimize whatever talent we have and send them to the mountains of Dagestan to train with fighters like Khabib to work on cardio and strengthening the body and mind?

Will help dial in their diet. And higher elevation can help with endurance too?

Could this challenge be what our young crop need to go to the next level?

You can get by domestic cricket by being lazy if you’re talented or know someone who knows someone. But Dagestan is no BS.

Movies like Rocky idealize this type of taking a break from the sport to strengthen the spirit and then come back to run through your opponents, could we witness a similar comeback?

I’m looking forward to strength and conditioning training especially, imagine if Babar comes back with ability to hit towering sixes.

A common thing you hear from fighters is that the training is the hardest part. Because it’s relentless and repetitive, without much glory. It takes discipline, grind, and above all—mental toughness. And that right there is why our boys won’t be able to cut it.

No offence to cricketers, but let’s be real—you can get away with being out of shape and still have a decent career if your timing and hand-eye coordination are good. You might jog a bit, lift some weights, hit the nets, and call it a day. But fighting is completely different beast. You’re up at dawn running. Then it’s hours of drilling, sparring, grappling, strength work, cardio, and recovery. Day in, day out. Your body is constantly broken down and rebuilt. There’s no hiding behind teammates, no skipping reps, no coasting.

And the brutal truth is that even with all that training, you might still get killed in the first round. That’s the nature of the fight game. It demands more than just talent, it demands a completely different level of physical and mental toughness.

Habib and co will make these losers cry and they will come back home running.

Habib is no joke and he runs his practice very with hard discipline and he is very strict.

I don't think these zimbos and other losers will survive his camp.
It's a good idea though.
Habib will make them bande da puttar.

Another millitary camp? Haven't They learn from last millitary training at kakul ? What was the outcome of last military training? :kp

There were MMA fighters in Babar and Rizwan’s Harvard program. Maybe we can use them?

Nobody does boot camps to prepare for sport. Not even Khabib. Even in combat sports you have specialized training regimes. Its nothing to do with military style boot camp. Its just in movies like Rocky that you see athletes do boot camp style training

Boot camps wont help cricketers - it will only leave them fatigues, exhausted and worst case injured. Boot camps are meant to help soldiers to increase endurance / stamina so that if stuck in hostile terrain - they can survive few days without food & water. Modern day athletes don't face such situations - everyone is well fed / hydrated before a game

Oh and Babar wont start hitting sixes by building bigger biceps. Its about timing technique & anticipation. Look at Nicholas Pooran !

Don’t forget the impact the military camp had on our 2013 Champions Trophy run. Misbah was able to get his highest ever score against a rampaging West Indies, and the elevation of UK and Ireland didn’t bother us too much.

Sadly because we didn’t pick Afridi and Umar Akmal we lost. But the boot camp in the mountains did its part.

This time it’s with professional fighting athletes who rely heavily on cardio.

It's russian way of pronouncing they add those words like they write magomed and they pronounce it magomed but it's mohammed.

Someone asked habib how to pronounce his name he said it's habib. I m huge fan of habib and islam and their team due to them I watch a lot of MMA. I watch almost everything what that team does and that camp will be hard for these losers.

I would send them for a 1 week camp with Sadhguru. I think they need more meditation and introspection brother, it can really work wonders for them.

OK my bad.
I did not mean to criticize u.

If we're just going to force them to do random training based of something we've seen on TV, then why not force them to train in extreme gravity.... I mean it seemed to work for Goku and Vegeta! 🤣

We need to stop trolling the current Pakistan team players to this extent. The batters just need to acknowledge that the game has changed and make an honest effort.

What the PCB truly needs is to invest in and scout talent from school cricket. Most of the Pakistan's cricket legends come from prestigious English-medium schools and affluent families. A good education not only broadens bookish knowledge but also helps in personal development, enhancing logical and analytical skills. These skills, in turn, improve situational awareness—something that is noticeably lacking in many Pakistani players. They often lack the smartness and sophistication needed at the highest level.

In contrast, the situation in India is quite different. Even players from villages and small towns are generally well-educated and often possess more grit and street-smartness than big city boys. This is due to the intense competition and hardships they face on their journey to reach the top. The process itself grooms then for life.

Some help this millitary camp did. Our boys came back even more unfit and the pacers had lost around 7-10 kph as a result.

Why would Khabib want to waste time with Pak cricketers? These guys don't believe in toughness or fitness.
Imagine Azam Khan in Khabib's fitness camp. He'll be airlifted back to Karachi after the first hour. :ROFLMAO:

Training for any professional sports cannot be a boot camp, training is a relentless grind day in and day out and the improvements are slow, steady and incremental.

The point is that our mindset about training needs to change, its a discipline which a professional sportsman needs to live by, no amount of PMA or Dagestan will fix the issue of Pakistan Cricket but Cricketers of the Past (Imran, Wasim, Waqar etc) were fit and achieved it.

Its the current lot who seem to be lost!

Team is not going to compete in UFC or MMA... This is cricket... We all saw what happened last time they went for a military-style training. No...
We don't need such training...

They should focus on cricket instead of doing shenanigans like these military-style trainings.

About 3 years ago, I was staying in a hotel in Dubai and went to the gym at 1AM (I was jetlagged). I saw Khabib in the gym going hard. At that time he had already retired but was doing a sprint circuit on the treadmill along with some strength training. (Something like 60-second sprint along with 60-second chest press). He was doing that for over an hour.

His kid was there on his ipad.

Khabib's retirement fitness regime > PCT's current fitness practices.

I don’t think this is true. Do Afghanistan players come from affluent backgrounds and English medium schools. Pak players have become complicit and confused with praise and getting trashed. It is hard for anyone to come to terms with. Their lack of language skills is not helping them at all. Viewers are also to be blamed putting them on pedestal for 1 match and throwing them into abyss next match. All this is a vicious circle but need to break some where

That's so cool. You got to see one of the mma goats doing training. I would love to watch him and his team train someday.

Habib runs his practice very hard with so much discipline.
Discipline alone would make these losers came back crying to Pakistan.

Habib and his team are known for the hardest training camps in MMA. The people who train with them know how hard it is to train with them.
I don't see any Pakistani player surviving habib's camp apart from fakhar maybe.

Bakhvar Azamchaev and Magomed Rizwanov need to emerge from this boot camp.

Genertically Pakistanis are a mix between the warriors of Afghanistan and software / stock experts of India. Good thing is you can tap into whichever side you want when you have both.

To tap into the warrior gene, we absolutely have to send these guys up north.

Don't underestimate mental toughness of guys like Rizwan, Babar and Shaheen. Physically they may be lacking compared to beasts like Habib but their mental toughness is on par with anyone in MMA.

This man beat up one guy so bad he ended up making him hate on an entire religion of people, just think how much you’d need to mess up someone to get them to that level of hate; that’s the level of violence which Dagestan is capable off and equally violent physical & mental regimes.

Our lot would wet themselves and go rushing back to the most popular Butt Karahi place they can find close to home.
