Kamran Akmal thinks its beneath him to be selected in Silver Category as he thinks he is Gold and above.......

Thus Kammi has pulled out. Peshawar Zalmi pick gets wasted as the teams that picked after Zalmi, were able to pick the better players.

Similarly when the PSL comes by, there are often 1-2 foreign players that pull out due to reasons related to bubble fatigue or not getting permission from family etc.

One thing that annoys be about this is that these players decide to register themselves for these leagues, and after getting picked some of them pull out by choice creating problems for the drafting team as they have already paid the opportunity cost.

Shouldn't PSL or PCB management start fining these players. If you are gonna pull out by choice than dont register in the first place.

I understand fitness or national duty selection, by pulling out by choice sets a bad discipline

Yes.

In Kamran Akmal's case it should probably just be a lifetime ban. So we can wash our hands of him once and for all.

Players could fake being unfit if there was a risk of a fine for pulling out so it wont work in practice.

The only viable solution is to never pick them again if you think they are at it.

Should be banned not fined!

Making a mockery of the whole draft process.

Yeah they should be banned. It's extremely unprofessional but the Anglos (SENA countries) like to bend the rules about professionalism when it comes to developing countries. Create a "Do not hire" list and add any players that do this, that's how Corporate America works.

you shouldn't be fined for pulling out - how does that work in law? it cant - hence no fine.

Better question - have been posted above - should have been banned / should have been let go along time ago if not banned

Do foreign players have some insurance policy where they get paid if injured during or before a tournament like ipl or psl. In that case it maybe difficult to fake.

These pull outs need to stop. You cant really ban them, thats an issue because cricketers association might collectively decide not to come.

I think there need to be heavy monetary fines.

There will be many changes in the squad when the psl starts

Narine, faf and moeen ali are also pulling out for bangladesh league

Making an example of Naveen-ul-Haq would be a good start

Not only will the PCB and the PSL Franchises need to find ways to improve the financials, economics of the league, they need to do an IPL i.e. offer to pay a percentage of the players wages to the boards i.e. 10-15% to encourage them to release their players and in exchange allow Pakistani players to play in their leagues. Similarly the PCB needs to fine, dock and black list players who walk out on the PSL after making commitments in order to safeguard the reputation of the league and to ensure people going forward do not take the PSL, PSL Franchises and officials for granted.

Fine them, ban them and then pick who?

Karachi Kings have proven that the pool of overseas English players who they will pick to make it look like a franchise league is so terrible.

This PSL has been the worst ever in terms of foreign star availability. PSL really is pointless in trying to not clash with IPL.

What’s the point if your gun players will still not be available even without a clash? Might as well hold the PSL draft straight after the IPL one and take the left overs

Well if we start banning them, we'd be stuck with the no names foreigners who would simply be picks for the sake of picking foreigners.

PSL already doesn't get much high profile names, so can't afford to do that.

One thing I would like to add is IPL doesn't pick many openers, so there is a strong chance Hales might not get retained in the next IPL.

What alex hales did was complete rubbish. Yes i think there should be a clause in the contract for them pulling out.

I seem to recall some clause like that in Sethi's time - not sure if it was ever enforced or put in contracts.

Franchises should disclose the reasons why players drop out during the tournament unless it actually is a personal reason.

Most of the time it's not a personal reason at all.

Players you never want to see in PSL again !

Who are the players you are done with and do not want to see picked in PSL again? Below are some of my choices

1- Faulkner, obviously has burnt all bridges and should never be considered in PSL again.

2- Alex Hales leaving IU after getting IPL contract is a disgrace too. We will be better off without him

3- Kamran Akmal, with all the drama at the beginning of PSL and was essentially blocking the progression of Harris.

I think PCB should consider reducing the number of overseas players and use PSL as a vehicle for promoting Pakistani talent then giving washed-up international journeymen one last payday.

Crying about biobubbles is one thing but vandalism and exortion ? Time to lay down the law.

Yes I agree thier should be a rule we're 2 emerging players need to be in the playing xi.

PCB can ban them, but it seems they have spoilt the Foreign players.
Faulkner's tweet give a feeling that these players think they are doing 'Ehsaan' on PCB and Pakistan by bringing cricket back.
