Most people want Malik to be the next captain of the Pak Odi side ignoring the fact that he was one of the worst captains in our history and involved in many controversies such as OATH Gate , intentionally losing a domestic match in front of foreign commentators like Sanjay Manjrekar and continued playing test even when he knew he wasn't good enough.Even Afridi in a recent TV interview gave him the nick name of the POLITICIAN.

Now lets come to the performance of Mr Shoaib Favourite Malik , in 2018 before this match .

So just after one good performance by Mr Malik against the great Mighty Afghan side people want him to be the captain instead of Sarfraz under whom we won the Champions Trophy , have the best t20 record , No groupings between players under him, Has the best Pakistani WK record among all PAK wicketkeepers who have played till now.Agreed that he is going through a touugh phase like any other player but people need to look back at the quality of WK keepers we had and can't expect him to be next Gilchrist.also dont have anyone with leaderhsip qualiites like Sarfraz.
If people want Malik to be the next captain then be ready for players like k.akmal / u.akmal with mix of controversies in the future.

Malik is at his best against smaller teams but against the top 5 teams Malik always shows his true colours.

Sarfraz is our best captain, however, him batting at number 6 does no favours for the team, get him at the top where he can take our score to 50-60 in first 10 overs without a loss of wicket, this will be a perfect scenario for the likes of babar and haris to come into!

Not unless his batting form improves. He won’t even be in the odi team.

Sarfraz is the best player to be captain but man, he needs to step up and start to play more responsibly.

Malik is height of mediocrity.

He has always, Always failed in tournaments where the big teams are also the opponents.

Sarfraz will remain the captain till WC, but needs to improve his batting.

Sarfaraz just doesn't look or sound like a captain. I know its a superficial observation but sometimes those turn out to be the most apt ones. He lacks temperament and appears impulsive at times. Winning a major tournamanet doesn't automatically gives you those qualities. The Champions Trophy win did not come only because of Sarfaraz's personal contributions to the team or his great acumen as a captain. We as a team managed to play out of our skins in that final game. Since we are an emotional nation, that one win against our arch rivals managed to hide all our deficiencies and insecurities. It also elevated Sarfaraz to the level that he did not deserved.

He never had class and even after that magical win, has not managed to grow into the figure we all aspired him to be. On the contrary, you see a guy who has become somewhat complacent. His fitness level always seemed questionable and one thought after becoming the captain that he will seriously work on shedding those extra pounds. Its been the opposite. He is a street fighter for sure but the game of cricket cannot always be treated as a street fight. Its requires planning, training, tact, patience and maturity. Pure brute self confidence and aggression can only take one so far.

Its hard for me to see any of the youngsters in the team getting inspired by him. He doesn't command any respect. Having said all that, the tragedy is that there are no better options available to us right now and if not but only for the sake of continuity, we simply have to stick with him and hope he improves in his ways. Though I seriously doubt that.

He should (and probably shall) remain until WC'19.

His batting is crucial to this team.

Maybe he should drop to lower order. That may solve. As far as I can gather he is not a top order batsman in ODI cricket.

He will be the captain but he doesn't make the team on merit and that is very worrying.
