Should the Pakistan Super League be held in September?

The scheduling is creating a lot of difficulties and players like De Villiers etc are playing for much lower in CPL due to their nonavailability in PSL

I think the best solution is to shift it to September which was left vacant after the Champions league was shelved.

February is a very busy month of the cricket calendar.....

Someone please convey it to the PCB

Have your say!

Best time for PSL or BPL is between SEP-DEC, because it gives good buffer from IPL (Or ECB T20 in future). This should encourage more "star" player joining SL/PL without risking injury.

2nd reason is, SEP-DEC is not the busiest time of cricket calendar (obviously May-AUG is more free, but weather isn't suitable) - DEC-MAR is the most busy time for International & franchise cricket.

3rd and most important reason is that it opens the best 4 months for FC cricket in PAK/BD. T20 hardly needs day light - as long as it's not raining or heavy fog, SEP-DEC is good for 2 matches par day. FC cricket is the mother of all cricket and it needs good weather, extended day light and lots of SUN - best time to arrange FC cricket in PAK is between mid Jan to May.

If it doesn't rain, even a T20 can be arranged at 40C, because it's just 3 hours & 40 overs, but FC or List A can't be - so scheduling should take care of that.

I am sure the PCB will make notes on this for the future

That is a very good suggestion but PCB isnt run by smart people so don't think they will ever try to move quiade azam trophy to the feb mar april.

I'd assume it'd be too hot in the UAE in September, but a local would be able to give a better opinion on that

Feb-Mar is actually a good time for the PSL as the pitches in UAE tend to be a lot better with the cooler weather providing a bit more moisture in the wickets, and batsmen can generally hit through the line of the ball. Seamers even get a bit of swing with the new ball.

The most bowler friendly series we've had in the UAE was against England in Jan-Feb 2012.

Between Sep-Nov under the baking hot sun, UAE pitches become dead, bone dry and devoid of any pace or bounce. The oppressive heat isn't good for the players either.

One suggestion is for National T20 to be the curtain-raiser for the Pakistani domestic season in mid-December. Most importantly, allow QEA Trophy to be shifted to January-February when the weather is better followed by the PSL in March. Have just ONE 50 over competition involving BOTH the departments and regions (instead of separate tournaments which leads to grounds/pitches being overused) in April with the Pakistan Cup to end the season in May.

Our home international season in the UAE should be between Nov-Dec when the weather is slightly cooler, not in late Sep when the pitches are more dead slow than usual and the players are killing themselves in the heat.

In the long term..UAE is not an option.
Most of the matches will be in Pakistan insha Allah and we have to keep in mind that weather in Pakistan would be very good at that time
