Shouldn't Mickey Arthur have sent Azhar Ali back to Pakistan after his injury?

Irfan got cramps and was thrown in the next return flight to Pakistan, Azhar Ali (i think) has a hamstring injury which is worse then cramps, so shouldn't he be going home?

Or different rules apply to different players?

If Azhar can recover before the end of the series there's no need to send him home.

again, you can easily get over cramps in 3 days

Not a matter of cramps. Mickey believed Irfan was not match fit, having watched him in the nets prior to the match. The same case cannot be made for Azhar.

This match was played in hot and humid conditions. Azhar was not the only one having difficulty.

Iran was sent back after the 4th game I think. No use in keeping a player around for one game.

still there was a t20 game afterwards.

its about being no use. Its about treatment with a player.

Irfan is a shy individual, he probably could be under pressure when he returns.

I know his fitness is not that great but he was sent back due to cramps only.

Mickey Arthur probably placed the blame on him and in anger he took the decision.

Then its Arthur's fault to play Irfan in the match if he knew he was not match fit.

Irfan got cramps midway his overs. Arthur was angry and in that anger he placed the blame of loss on him.

My point is, Arthur needs to treat all the players the same.

Azhar should not be in OD game , unless he can bowl 5 overs of leg spin with good control

Azhar Ali is the captain of the odi side. He has shown supreme fitness by scoring a 300 and a 200 within the past few months. He has batted for the longest period of time out of all of our batsmen and hasn't gone off the field. He has continued to field at short leg to spin despite batting so long in tests. Irfan flew in from Pak and wasn't match-fit, broke down after a few overs, which showed he wasn't keeping his fitness intact whilst being away from the team. Two completely different situations.

He can't conclude just by simply watching in the nets. Mickey was informed that Irfan was fully fit therefore tested him by playing him. After a complete assessment, he was sent back.

Your point doesn't stand because these two cases are not comparable. Azhar is very clearly match fit having played a test series, Irfan wasn't.

Azhar got injured after 3 months tour & batting for the highest time - also being Captain in one Test. He has some muscle crams which will be OK for last 2 matches.

Irfan wasn't in the team at first, possibly on fitness ground - then someone sold dummy to Arthur when he asked for back-up & they sent Irfan with fitness certificate; who limped off after 5 overs in a tight loss ............ may be someone like Whatmore in his younger days would assaulted Irfan for faking fitness; Mickey just sent him back!!!!!!!

A 7ft1 seamer who has many crackdowns in the past and who is struggling to be match fit for months can't be compared to one of our fittest bat.
Btw i wouldn't have mind azhar flying home
