Declaring at 448 in the first test match first innings when he pitch was flat and plenty of time left in the game

Preparing a green top wicket in Pindi without taking into account that Pakistani batters would face issues against Bangladeshi pacers

Everyone felt that this series was just a warm up and the perfect opportunity to get rid of our rustiness in the test format before the English series in October but after this series England might be tempted to rest their A category players and to select their emerging B category players instead

What would have happened differently if we had estimated them differently?

We got out batted and out bowled across two test matches. Lack of skills and execution and nothing to do with underestimating the opposition.

The team definately under estimated Bangladesh in the first test match. The nature of the defeat scarred the team very badly and put the team on the defensive since then

The biggest sign was Babar not wanting to skip this tour but was looking for a rest against Australia earlier last year

We have been losing across all formats to associates, c teams and minnows with this same core of players and crushed by strong teams.

Regardless even if you initially hypothetically underestimate an opposition there are chances to regroup in a test match. Even if we accept Shan declared too early (which I don't) It doesnt excuse the miserable collapse in the second innings. It doesn't excuse that our premier bowlers are going through the motions and our other bowlers can barely touch 130kmph.

It's just our level now sadly and it goes beyond just underestimating.

Don't think Pakistan underestimated the Bangla boys, rather Bangladesh have played some fantastic cricket. Let's not forget the fact that Bangladesh have an experienced team compared to the Pakistanis.

Declaring wasn't the issue. Those who claim it was, do not understand cricket.

If Pakistan did not declare then the match would have been a draw as it was a road. And had that happened you all would have caused a bloodbath claiming things like

A) Shan has such a poor attitude and loser mentality.

B) He could have crushed Bangladesh but instead decided to play it safe and this is what's wrong with Pakistan cricket.

I'm one of the few who believes declaring was the right call.

Just admit that the team is rubbish, How can you get bundled out for 140+ on the 5th day? On a pindi road?

Similarly how can you get thrashed and bat so poorly in the 2nd test? And bowl so poorly that an opposition at 26-6 nullifies your lead to only 12?

Shan's captaincy had been terrible no doubt, Dude put fielders back to allow liton das to have a halwa time, He didn't place 3rd slips and when he did put agha their who can't catch for the life of him.

The breaking point was when he let sarfi take over and do everything for a few overs cause he himself sucks and even then he didn't listen to sarfi on having a long off when it's clear shanto was hitting straight.

The only good decisions pakistan took in this 2 match test series was declaring to force a result.

However it doesnt matter when the onfield captaincy is rubbish, Batting is rubbish, Bowling is rubbish and fiekding is rubbish

It would have happened sooner or later. Inadvertently, that declaration exposed the true potential (or lack) of of this team.

They have been sheltered far too long behind the flattest tracks in history. There’s always been some excuse. Aussies they lost “only 1-0” against the “mighty Australians”, the loss to England was put down to England’s bazball anomaly - “we weren’t prepared for it”.

If handled correctly, this is the best thing to happen to pak cricket. Unfortunately, knowing the PCB, it probably won’t be.

This is what I don’t understand - there’s been a lot of analysis. The reality is how the heck can you get bowled out for 146?! And again in this match under 200

Simple, On the 5th day the pitch allowed for a bit of turn which is normal in test.

Even on road pitch, by the 4th or 5th day, it'll allow for a bit of seam or spin.

Pur players are so crap that a bit of turn or seam movement is the end of them.

No wonder Babar curated againat Nepal. Imagine being scared of a minnow spinner.

We used to win away Tests from 26/6.

Now we lose home Tests after having the opponent in that situation.

Sad.
I still have the test where shafiq and sarfi saved a test and won it from a lost position.

Gun game that they played against sri lanka
