I'm a British citizen living in UK, I'm considering moving to pakistan permanently for a better life style, but I'm really confused
What sort of job opportunities or small business opportunities are available that will earn me good money to meet both ends.

Any suggestions?

Do you have children? If not then the move will be easier. Otherwise your kids will force you back to the UK. Kids born and raised in Britain will struggle to settle in Pakistan.

Whatever you do, keep your option open to return to the UK if things dont work out. Some people say restaurants/food business is booming as always but I ain't an expert.

for a better lifestyle? people move from pak to uk not other way round.

if your kids ever found out you moved from uk and pak, they will be livid when they grow up.

I don't have children so that's out of the way,
I was looking into food business in Lahore as I have experience in that field too.
I have spoken to few people and it sounds reasonably cheap to set up a business in that industries with a great profit margin

UK is only great if you are extremely rich and living in central London

I've seen many people move from Pak to UK but trust me many of them would have had a better standard of Life in Pak

It looks all good from outside but really it isn't

It's really all about when pounds convert into rupees

opening a restaurant offering vilaayiti food where you maintain quality and are able to attract customers early always works.

lol

Its also great if you want to accumulate riches from nothing.

i also believe the opposite is true, you can only live a decent life in pak with vast amounts of money.

OP you are making a BIG MISTAKE!
i know life can be tough in the uk, but its a walk in the park compared to Pakistan.
You will have to pay for health care, you don't want to get seriously ill in Pakistan, as the quality of healthcare is vastly inferior to the uk and will be expensive. This is also true for your family members.
Pskistanas a third world country, has many illnesses that you hardly get in the uk, such as typhoid, malaria and dengue, just to name 3, all life threatening

You say you dont have kids, but in the future if you do, you will have to pay their school fees, which can be expensive, if you want to send them to a decent school.

As for food businesses in lahore, theres thousands of them, its very competitive and high risk.

I could say alot more, but if what i have already said is not enough to change your mind, then i will leave it to you to find out for yourself if its a good idea or not to leave the uk and move to Pakistan.

Haircutting business.... people will always need to have their hair cut

You will make pennies from men, unless you are a top designer salon and that will probably fail in lahore, but might, just might succeed in karachi, again high risk.
Ladies just go to the parlour and have their make up and haircut, but thats usually by another woman. This gets very busy during wedding season nov - jan, but may not be.that busy the rest of the year. Also, theres thousands of these parlours in lahore,.some ladies also offer these services from their own home.

I agree with you, the reason I want to shift and set up business

It's also not easy to set up a business in UK
Where as in Pakistan it won't be difficult

I understand what your saying but I'm absolutely sick of living here now

I have already considered everything you mentioned, the reason I want to setup few different small businesses so I am financially secured before I move

Footfall is high with haircut business but the actual sale is very low unless your in bharia town and charging 2 3 thousand per haircut

no it easy very easy in the uk if you know what you are doing, anyone has access to capital and debt, in pak its almost impossible to get that same access and you are only left with what you have in your pocket to start a business.

Ok. good luck, you gonna need it.
Did i mention load shedding, in the summer 40 degrees and only 2/3 hours of electricity per day!

A business in cleaning perhaps? I had this idea that if government cannot provide cleaning services, like getting rid of the garbage and a general maintenance of cleanliness in an area, then a private venture can fill in that gap.
