Day 3.

South Africa all over Aussies like a $10 suit.

Has Johnson's form been papering over the cracks of the fragile batting lineup?

I hope SA will not be affecter too much by the drop catches.

The match will be the most interesting if Autralia just save the follow on by say about 20-30 runs and SA have too push for a win and then in the last innings Autralia have do prevent a loss.

SA are not playing like World number 1 side. They deliberately prepared a very slow pitch because of the threat of the Australian pacers. SA are a declining team anyway in terms of top status and with the young talent i.e. England are producing now, they will have a tough couple of years coming up.

Hopefully we'll see a packed ground today.

Not different to what England did in last Ashes when they won 3-0

Good test for our players. Avoiding the follow on is the first aim and then hopefully to reach 300.

Puts a bit of pressure on the Saffers to force a result.

Clarke's form is getting very concerning.

Well not just him haddin and to a lesser extent smith have bailed us out time after time after an awful starts to our first innings batting.

We have been in trouble in all 5 ashes tests and the 2 here in our first dig.

I guess they are going to have to do it again today or this one is lost but you have to think SA aren't england they aren't going to miss a 2nd chance to hammer home the advantage.

Sky are currently showing mickey mouse ODI cricket - what is going on - get the Test match on sky.

Morkel trying to do a mitch here by bowling short and quick.

OZ 117/4 after 27 overs.

1st Innings Collapse bully Steve Smith is the man for the job.

Morkel to Smith, 1 run, awkward again, angled into the ribs at 151ks. Smith just about manages to keep it out, and gets a single to fine leg

If these two Partnership can get another 70 runs here , Aussies will breathe easy.

After a long time I am seeing Morkel bowling this kind of spell KKR would be delighted :)

What has happened to South African fielding?

Been pathetic this series

I guess Amla's gone for the remaining of the match, as well as series.

Fielding has been dismal to say the least.

68 more runs to save the follow on , but I think that is not enough , Aussies have to bat more here to save the game , lots of time still left for SA to force a result.

Fielding has been pathetic from SA this test. Could have had Oz out twice by now. Smith and Haddin may punish them still.

Hope Morkel and Parnell aren't seriously injured

As someone who has been following scores as opposed to watching this game live due to travel.

Is this a flat deck?
Both Johnson and Steyn look highly unimpressive.. Jono taking a lone wicket and Steyn going for almost 5 an over wicketless thus far. :O

That ball by Steyn was Waqar-esque

It's a slow deck that it doesn't doing much

Ball is reversing so Steyn may pick up few more wickets here quickly.

In their last few series SA perform badly in first test match and then make a strong comeback...

Johnson averages 69 with the bat in South Africa
