What a farce in South Africa !!!

India need just 2 runs to win and there is a lunch break of 40 mins

So if it rains like crazy after 30 mins and there is no play possible further from now, it is a rained out match as India did not play 20 overs yet.

That is how farcical it is.

If you follow the British rules on everything, this is what happens.

The officials must exert their authority every now and then to keep players’ ego in control.

Only people who understand how force works will understand this.

The more people crying about it, the better.

No wonder cricket is such a niche sport. Referees should use their head sometimes and not rely completely on the rules. Good luck playing in front of an empty stadium.

Kohli to Umpire : Yaar tum theek ho, 2 min pehley break kaa kehnaa thaa mai match khatam kar detaa

For such idiots, Kerry Packer treatment is required.

Absolutely ridiculous decision to go for lunch. Complete farce it is. Makes no sense. As a captain, I am sure Kohli would have lost my mind seeing such decision with just 2 runs to go.

When I looked at the title of this thread, I initially thought this was a troll thread.

Can't score those runs on an empty stomach. :batman:

its all about money.

Calling lunch meant, people will actually buy food and beer at the ground rather than heading home.

Stupid and against logic. Should have just let the match finish.
asifp may have a good point but I'm pretty sure some of the crowd would have just gone home at that point rather than waiting so not sure if that was the main reason why they still took lunch.
