After rebounding in the match, can Misbah and company start the tour off on a great note by pushing for victory on the 4th and final day?

I think Pakistan should focus more on getting practice rather than winning. Misbah, Sarfraz, and Gul should all get batting practice and should look to last as long as possible. Our whole middle-order flopped in the 1st innings, but good to see Misbah finding some form in the 2nd innings. He should still spend a few overs in the middle, I believe. Sarfraz has silenced his critics and Gul has done wonderfully at #8 so far, and they should spend some more time in the middle today too.

I think our batsmen should bat until they get a lead of 400, and then leave the Saffers 400-odd to get in 70-odd overs. This way, both - our remaining batsmen and our bowlers will get practice. And then we'll have a good shot at winning as well. But getting practice is more important than winning without getting practice in a warmup.

It's gone as well as could have been hoped.

In terms of batting preparation for the First Test:

Hafeez, Jamshed, Misbah, Sarfraz and Gul are ready.

Azhar, Younis and Shafiq have hard work to do in the nets - and we know that they are all hard workers.

In terms of bowling preparation:

Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal are clearly ready.

Junaid improved quickly, and is ready.

Irfan cannot be judged, because his value to the side is bounce from a good length, and Buffalo Park is the flattest pitch in South Africa.

Now we just have to pray for no injuries - this is the point on the last tour where Umar Gul got injured.

I think win will also boost our morale.

Think about it this way. Gul had a good hit in the first innings and so did most of the tail.

Sarfraz looks okay this innings too. Misbah has found the form he wanted.

Sure, we can pile up the runs. But I think on the flattest pitch of East London, It's good enough as it is...

Now the aim should be to win. Just my two cents : )

They should bat till lunch time and than give the bowlers a chance to get some more match practice and also win the match.

What do you expect him to do ? Hit sixes in a first class game?

Go take your hate somewhere else.

And Ajmal is out.

Now you can see why I wanted us to declare instead ?

You should say this to cricinfo because that is were I found it.I just copied the stuff from there. If you think that my above post is full of hatred, go blame them and tell them to shut down their website :))

The batting form of the middle-order and lower-order looks like it has played Tanvir into the Test side. For his batting.

Now Irfan and Junaid need to bowl well enough to keep him out of the side.

i can show you whole overs from Hafeez and Jamshed that were like this.

Did you bother posting from cricinfo then ?

Stop being petulant and childish. Focus on the game instead of trying to point Misbah at every damn opportunity.

at least we know new ball in the morning in S Africa is Very Dangerous

And we can also wager a guess how much Pakistan will make against the real South African team in moving conditions....

Lol, you are judging me by my avatar, i guess. I have no hatred for Misbah :).

Misbah does tuk tuk at every damn opportunity. Stop hating the guy for pointing that out.

be positive at least a 100 between jamshed, Hafeez & Sarfaraz
and then we still have single figures from the rest :)

No I am judging you for posting a maiden over played by Misbah.

Had you done that for every batsmen , I would have no qualms : )

i know he should have at least had a strike rate of 100 in this T20 match against south african invitation xi

Yes, and when he does that in ODI's I won't complain at pointing him out.

but it's a first class match. So let him be.

Anyhow, he is out already. Let it be.

I was tired of seeing Misbah playing maiden overs every time and barely taking a single and was annoyed at watching the cricinfo commentry. That made me to post it here. You should have no problems with it :)

You are right.

but just like you, I was tired of people having a go at Misbah whenever he comes out to bat.

You should have problems with it. : )

5 overs 24/0 Eek! Where's the swing in this pitch and the moving ball ?

Invitations going for win here. But they need to score at almost 4 an over.

When the ball is new and hard they will get runs, but later on Pakistan will control this game inshaAllah though it's allways good to take wickets with new ball.

Another one gone !

And Vilas walks in ...

Well at least we are getting the wickets !

Sorry Cody Chetty instead .. and he strikes a four of the first ball !!

They are actually going for this !!

No worries. Invitations are playing this as a T20/ ODI now. They will get the boundaries but will aslo lose wickets.

From reading this forum you would never know Pakistan were currently dominating a game of cricket :))

Davy Jacob is taking the game to Pakistan!

Erm not really, he is taking the game to Gul. Junaid and Ajmal going for 3 an over, Gul is the one leaking runs AS USUAL. He is what we call a pressure reliever; other bowlers build pressure and then Gul releases it all by bowling filth. At times he does get lucky wickets when batsman keep on hitting him. Awful bowler.
